P~MX
Shotgun for sure -- had a Freelander but it was a pile of trouble from front to back !
ferguson_tom
the shoguns are very expensive to run about 22mpg, the grand vitaras have a good reputation. As for freelanders we love it as a car but it has been back to the second hand dealers 4 times in last 3 months and the boot aint actually that big probs about the same as a focus just taller. -Mongrel-
If you want a decent sized boot then that rules out the Freelander and SWB Shogun, don't know about the Suzi, never had one. So a LWB Shogun fits the bill, but they are expensive to run, which is why, if it were me I'd buy a Discovery. Plenty big enough, comfortable and another 10mpg out of it. I am so sure on this that I will soon be putting my 2.8TD SWB Shogun up for sale and buying a Disco.
rabbiter
disco and for 2k you should get a decent one,go for as late a year as you can find before the td5 P/R and i think S reg, look at as many as you can in the time youve got, check for rust in the usual places and look for a one with history... Ian1513
I've had a freelander for the last 4yrs and had no bother with it what so ever, great in the snow, does the job off road and better mpg than the others. I do know the early freelanders, pre 03 were renowned for breaking down so maybe this is what most on here are referring to when they slate it! The boot isnt the biggest as has been said, for me though if you could a Subaru forester that wouldn't let you down and would my choice with your budget.
