Beretta28g
As above! How long do you give it if deer havent shown before you get off home for breackfast, and what time do you arrive at your highseat, 30 mins before first light? gixer1
It's a wee bit of a strange question as there is no real single answer as it depends on place, time of arrival, time of year etc.... Regards, Gixer
bobt
I prefer to stalk on a morning, and if needed use the high seat in the afternoon,

The Essex Hunter
exactly. +1 It is very much like this BBC programme.... http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=bbc%20programme%20pointless&source=web&cd=1&sqi=2&ved=0CCMQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bbc.co.uk%2Fprogrammes%2Fb00rhg2r&ei=h8RET5DtOaXT0QW5s_DsAw&usg=AFQjCNGPTVfBLbqXCyZ1rPFuer1CZBX_pg TEH
Bleeh
Have you tried baiting the area? I used to deploy 25kg of horse carrots every 3 or 4 days (bought for £1.50 a bag), after about a month of this I started shooting and it worked to great success. Dekers
As long as it takes or until I get bored! Something usually turns up, but not always a deer! But I don't spend that long in them anyway!
Redgum
I normally stalk morining, highseat evening though I have shot munties midday from the seat, it really isnt as simple as a set time, it just happens when I have time. Tommo
Depends on the species involved - On Fallow I'd stalk in the morning, and sit in a seat in the afternoon. I would stalk from when I could see in the morning - or maybe get myself to a clear fell by first light. Roe Doe's in winter a would seat in the morning (portable - deployed the afternoon previous) as they are far more territory based. Bucks same as Fallow. Munties- on foot usually, seat in the evening. Depending on terrain. I would be in a seat at least two hours before sunset, they are mobile all day - Just my take- I shoot far more munties in the morning than evening. Most Roe I shoot are in the evening at last light, same with Falliw&Red (unless on the hill) T
Beardo
as above it's all a bit variable, but i guess 2.5 hours is an average sit up for me
mereside
i build highseats for a living but i dont really like to be in them they are very productive but im not one for sitting in them long 1.5 hrs tops i like to stalk then sit then stalk some more this can be as productive if the ground allows sometimes deer just are not in that area and time wasted ,atb wayne
Harnser
There are some that will sit in the high most of the day and only come down for a pee . Some times they dont allways come down for a pee . As for me ,I get a sore bum after about a couple of hours after sunrise . Harnser .
