HDAV
Hi on the mainland there are sect 2 shotgun and section 1 firearm shotguns if it has a magazine capacity of 2 and meets the overall lengths then it is available on an SGC. billytheghillie
get her to try a hatsan, cheap and cheerfull just feed it 70mm shells and regular clean it and you will have no probs. waiting for the anti-hatsan brigade to reply, tin hat already on! Tod
yes hatsons are cheap and cheerful, they also feel that way, wouldnt have one for clay shooting though as the trigger pull is awful and it would fall to pieces after a year of claying, would be better off spending the 300 quid on a second hand remington. HDAV
Budget is key.... Franchi Beretta Browning Benelli Winchester All make good semis Remmington newer stuff is not supposed to be as good...Many manufacturers make some special clay versions http://www.gunmart.net/gun_review/semi-auto_shotguns/ http://www.shootinguk.co.uk/guns/531863/Secondhand_Beretta_semiautos_review.html
drut
"trigger pull is awful" Strangely mine has a nice trigger:Maybe they vary?
BerettaSV10
Also some have a preferance to if they are inertia or gas recyling, look at all you can, HDAV as listed a good selection of makes worth looking at, my preferance is the benelli's as they are inertia recoil and easier to clean. HDAV
"trigger pull is awful" Strangely mine has a nice trigger:Maybe they vary? I shot a Silver select composite OU and trigger was terrible on that, not tried one of the autos.... There are loads on the market at all budgets... fit is key and most ladies need a higher comb and shorter LOP, why a semi? Light weight? Lower recoil? Some oddball ones out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTGm5y7LADk Edited February 25, 2012 by HDAV

bedwards1966
Nothing wrong with Hatsan, recommended if you want a good cheap gun.
Sco77w
I've got an Armsan A612, it's a gas opperated semi that is quite soft shooting. Not much more than a Hatstand but mine has been really reliable. They are also badged up as Webley and Scott in the UK. I've had it almost a year and put a couple of thousand carts through it and it hasn't skipped a beat.
VicW
If you want a Beretta then the new 'Outlander' is well worth a look and there are some good discounts available out there. I've just bought one and am very pleased with it but I have been a Beretta auto fan for years. There is review in the current 'Sporting Gun'. Vic. TbirdX
I've got a Maxus, which I love and have also just bought a Hatstand 20g for the Mrs. I have to say I'm quite impressed with the way the Hatstand is put together, feels very solid, stripping the thing though, is a whole other ballgame compared to the Maxus. We'll get to put some shells through it this weekend hopefully. Edited February 28, 2012 by TbirdX
