F.A.C The waiting game!!

Recommended Posts

My FAC has been in for 8 weeks waiting for a variation. My new rifle has been transferred from one shop to my local shop. moderator has been paid for, reloading dies are here. brass on its way and bullets are looking like they might be here before my ticket, there coming from the states.

spoke to a well known rifle smith yesterday and he has been waiting since November for home office paperwork and October for he SGC renewal.

It does make me wonder where it is all being done on purpose to A, get more staff and B, to show that if there is a hike in administration fee's then they can speed up and make it look like it was worth the money.

I assume you're with Avon & Somerset? I waited about 10 weeks for my FAC grant, which I didn't think was toooo bad. Did have to call up a few times to chase them, and for about 6 weeks of that, my FAC was just waiting in a pile for a final signature, apparently. (You wouldn't think that would take too long). The firearms team said they'd had loads of applications recently, to beat any price rise. They also said that the cost of FAC grant might rise to as much as £300! When I asked if that would make the service any quicker, the guy ummed and ahhed a bit and said it would depend if they could afford to hire more staff etc. Doesn't sound too positive to me...

Posted my form for a variation yesterday, must have just caught the last collection at 5pm.

At 2pm today they were on the phone asking if I wanted a moderator on it.

It would be pretty damned impressive if I got it back tomorrow.
