leeds chimp
Yo Silpig, is Mrs Silpig flushing this time round? It's me, Mr Countryside Lass and Chazzmeister with Mrs Silpig to retain our PW Top Gun title, if not we're a 'man down' and need a volunteer to join in and show us how it's done - any takers?? These flushes are turning into the stuff of legends...... ahhh poor chazz is a lady down.... :yp: :yp:
Chazzmeister
ahhh poor chazz is a lady down.... :yp: :yp:  It's been a while since me and a lady had the chance to use the word 'down' in pretty much any interesting context Still, I've always got my shooting. Oh, hang on...I'm no good at that either
Chazzmeister
Southeastpete, a 75 flush in 90 seconds means a clay every 1.2 seconds so to even fire a shot at every clay all four of us all need to fire 2 shots each every 10 seconds. This sounds like a lot of time but consider it.. eject.. load 2 shells ... close and shoulder gun ... pick first target ...fire pick second target.. fire .. eject the reality is though that given half your targets will disapear into bits just as you are about to pull the trigger and at other times you finish relading and have to wait for a couple of seconds for a target to present itself so you need to be faster than that ! Unless you are a Semi speedloader extrordinaire you will be a hell of a lot faster with an ejecting O/U than the Semi, even with the extra shot. If you do bring the semi bring a decent supply of carts that you know it likes and the OU for if the semi plays up. Sound reasoning - time telescopes! It sounds so easy when you apply the maths like that Of course it's not allowing for hitclays letting what seem like ages go by before releasing 5 simultaneously (he does that stuff y'know - sneaky beggar) Also it doesn't allow for the fact that getting into that cage makes me act like a puppy and I want to bounce about and wee everywhere Edited February 22, 2012 by Chazzmeister

Who said they are 90 second flushes, i was thinking more 80 seconds :yp: Unless you are quick reloading the semi use an o/u.A few guys do use them so give it a go.If you bring another gun you can always swap for the next flush/sporting if it doesnt go well. dan-250
Say 40 carts in your shoulder in under 3 mins, after 3 goes and that 3 times plus 50 sporting, I may take the chances with a semi, or I won't be able to move my arms the day after. I once tried shooting with a semi but it affected my swing Sorry - someone had to make a joke about it sooner or later and I'm cheap enough to do it... The emphasis for the day is on enjoyment and nobody takes it too seriously (except those who do!) Missing is good fun anyway - especially when you do it at speed so even if you come with a catapult you'll have a great day

bighit1985
Thanks for the room at the pub, but might need a favour with my shotgun. I'm currently waiting for my license to come through which should be with me this week or next, in time for the event. But my brother has my shotgun currently while i wait, who lives in cornwall but is in Norfolk at his head office for a meeting the week before the event, but can't make the event as he's got to be back in Cornwall on the Friday, So I was wondering if theres any local gun shop that might hold onto it for me, so I can borrow the gun for the 72hrs till I can get it transfered to my license. Or if the Police is useless as usual and my license doesn't come through if someone has a gun I could borrow for the event? I'm a lefty but can shot with a righthanded gun so long as it doesn't have a large amount of cast. Was going to borrow a semi from Southeastpete but all posts before saying that the semis arent a good idea for the flush. cheers

You and your brother "share" a shotgun but you are waiting for your cert so it can be written on it.. meanwhile your brother with said SG is in Norwich just before the flush .....and you want someone to hold onto it till then?? NO, the brother is holding the gun until the bighits license comes through, Bighit is hoping it will come through in a day or two, and his brother can then leave the gun at a dealer for his collection. The best and safest bet would be to borrow a gun on the day and do it all correctly without any rush a little later. We Norfolk boys (LC especially) are good when it comes to details - even I can tell you exactly how I missed the first 2,612 clays of my shooting career - the next 90-100k are a bit more difficult to recall quite so clearly Hitclays will undoubtedly help out with a loaner if asked and Philip Webster at Attleborough may be able to help out if RFD services are wanted. He's a very helpful gunsmith but I shan't presume to answer for him so if you're looking to have a RFD caretake the gun he might be worth asking. dan-250
If your a midget, you can use my o/u if I'm not shooting the same time, hopefully I'll be playing ball with the semi tho, if not I have a sxs aswell, anyone can use them if they like. The o/u is ejector and loose too. 1/4 and 1/2 so not tight choked either. If someone has a 14 and 3/4 inch pull over and under my dad would love to have a go with one. He hasn't got his cert yet, but he just uses mine for the time being but mine are miles to small for him.
bighit1985
Yeah, my brother and I bought a gun each, him and right-handed gun me a left handed gun, which both went on my brother's license before Xmas as they were the last ones of the ones we wanted, and was assuming I'd have my license through shortly after Xmas but its been 4 going on 5 months for it. So assuming my license comes through this week or next I would have my license for the event, but my brother can't attend, so to have a gun for the event and because I more than lightly not see him before the event and 'to kill 2 birds with 1 stone' I'd have my gun to come back with me to Kent as well, then get to transfered to my license. But if my license doesn't come through then I'd need to borrow a gun or if my license does come through but can't get hold of my gun before the event. So thanks for the offers I'll confirm closer to the time if I definitely need to borrow a gun. many thanks guys
