sako751sg
Had a phone call from a farmer last night saying his neighbour had lost 1 lamb, maybe 2 on Saturday night and had asked if i would have a look and see if i could nail the fox for him.Scorching day again so after a few blank hours with the rod in the morning i headed oot at two this afternoon to have a chat with the new lad.I knew there was a cracking valley on his that the foxes worked oot of so after a 10 minute news with him i drove over a grass park and followed the valley which runs about a half mile and is thick with fund bushes.About half way up i spotted a fox sunning in the bottom and with me just recceing i had drove in full view.I shut off the Jeep and didnt move, and although she was watching me she wasnt overly concerned and ended up dozy off now and again.I managed to open the passenger door and slide oot,got the HMR from the back and crawled 50 yards along the fence line away from the Jeep so i could get a crack without her watching me.When i stuck my heed up she was still lying there and the way she was it was ideal for a heed shot and that was that.A very big vixen thats cubbed and was just out for a wee bit of fresh air and sun.She was bang on 104 yards. The place is alive with rabbits too so i spent the rest of the day knocking some off.All within 80 yards and with the CZ zereod bang on its a top bit of kit and ended up with 19 of all sizes. sako751sg
Awesome! Keep up the good work! Out of curiosity how often are you cleaning your 455? (I have the same rifle) I cleaned during running it in but since have put aboot 100 through it withoot cleaning with no loss of accuracy. well done any idea where the cubs might be, you might get the dog or helper vixen gathered up. She was on top so they are now on meat and milk. go get em boy.... Ta fella. The den is aboot 40 yards behind her up the bank face in heavy cover and i waited till after dark last night but nothing appeared.Ive been oot all day and just back and still no sign.Very surprised to see her out as they are usually later in dropping up here but everything seems to be earlier.Might try later on today as the lads lambing is in full swing and hes nay keen on losing any more.I baited with some of the rabbits from yesterday so hopefully sooner than later ill come across him. coyotemaster
Well done on the vixen--nice stalk. I believe you could make it on a coyote stalk! Great shooting on the rabbits as well and great pics. If you ever come over here though you may have to check your camera at the house--
