paddywack12
Another vote for France here best food and drink in the world, great countryside, nothing wrong with the locals if you try and join in. It can be cheap if your happy to self cater or camp. I love it there and would love to live there.

magman
Stuck to the walls with "special" glue  Is that why you wanted me there sat :look: Not sure if your budget covers but Italy is fantastic. We are not long back from the Amalfi Coast. We had never been before but would go back tomorrow. We had great food and drank fantastic wine. The people are friendly, the weather is good and there is plenty of culture if you want it. I didn't see any "football shirted" tourists, any signs for "Full English Breakfast" and no "Irish Pubs". You got lost then ?

Brown Sauce
How about slovenia or Croatia? Most memorable place in Slovenia was a place call bovec, stunning scenery, lovely people and relatively cheap.
HDAV
Well I'm not going to lie, Ibiza last week was worth every penny of my current and savings accounts However I'm doubting that San Antonio is going to be your cup of tea. I did hear the north of the island is good though. Cala martina is stunning http://www.loveibiza.net/beaches/cala-martina-beach went a few years ago and it's stunning and if you feel the need you can hit San antanio ! Bonna
I am looking for some ideas for a holiday this summer and wanted some new ideas. Not looking for something too expensive, nor chavy. Wondering if anyone knew of any little places tucked away from the unclean masses that gives a bit of an experience of that country. Looking £500-600 per person max. (flight/accommodation). Do not want anywhere in North Africa nor all inclusive as this tends to pull down quality. Have you got any ideas? Try Zakopany in tghe tatra mountains. It's great

apache
I love the channel islands. So clean, friendly, no VAT (unleaded 115p/l). Nice and warm. Came once 4 years ago and keep coming back. The only place other than Yorkshire I have ever been that I could see myself living. (typing this on the Island of Jersey )

Why not explore your own country and see just what your missing out on. Last weekend me and the missus went up to John O'groats in my Mk1 Escort just for the Hell of it. We drove back down the great Glen and through Glencoe. I said to the missus that I have been all over this planet and taken her along most of the time, I have never yet been anywhere more stunning than this and she was reading a book. I said I don't mind you reading a book but by God you are seriously missing out. Only downside is the weather can be a bit iffy. Doesn't bother me but a bit of Greek sun would be nicer this year. Agree the place is stunning, but take your own booze. Over 6 squid a pint and the nastiest bottle of wine was near 30. Saying that I'd go back.
