JDog
Do members consider that it is absolutely necessary to wear camouflaged clothing when out pigeon shooting? When shooting from a hide surely the net and a decent cap will hide the shooter from the pigeons. I accept that will not be the case when roost shooting or shooting on a flight line. fenboy
No not required at all , but I would recommend drab clothing rather than something more visible, its keeping movement to a minimum that is more important.

JDog
no but we all do pink shirt and jeans just don't look the part welcome to PW by the way Funnily enough I shot pigeons last Saturday in jeans and a pink shirt and wellingtons (not Gucci loafers) and it did not seem to worry them and they came strongly into the decoys and 52 paid the penalty. browning n spaniel
read archies book, 70,000 pigeons killed , wearing sports jacket, what does this tell you??? you could sit in hide with 1980 shell suit on, as long as your jumping up n down like your at a 1980s disco then your be fine

If i had my head full of lead shot I wouldn't worry about a pink shirt Edited July 5, 2012 by Fisheruk

pigeon controller
Pigeons see movement more than anything, hide discipline is important. I was taught the following "MOVE, MOUNT AND SHOOT" . Talking about Archie Coates sports jacket these were traditionally based on tweed which were the original ghillie suits and blend into the background. Cranfield
Of course it makes no difference, which is why 90% of pigeon shooters wear it.
