Thunderbird
There's Franchi and there's Franchi. The older ones are very good. I've got a 30+ year old Franchi Falconet which has been 'breathed on' by two very well known people in the gun trade, and I've been offered silly money for it. To be honest if you're just after a gun for clays try the 525 and the SP1, both feel quite different, choose the one that suits you best. HDAV
The uk importer of franchi is the same for beretta and lanber GMK and they don't import the OU AFAIK when I saw them at a show I asked why not and got the " I don't know sir, here try a silver pigeon" line Would love a Falconet ! Gordon R
Resale value would concern me. If it was an older, cheapish model, it might be worth it - less than £600. If it was the same money as the other two you mention - walk away. The other two are far better. I owned a Franchi Barrage trap some years ago - not the best ever. Hector Vector
I'm also really annoyed that my ancient Franchi O/U hasn't gone wrong yet! It's on gunwatch by the way...

Franchi Harrier
I've reserved a franchi harrier sporting, 28", new for £695. The same dealer had a Miroku Mk38 new (but no warranty)for £850. I was toying over which one but decided to stick with the one with the warranty cause of being new and unfamiliar with maintenance of shotguns. Time will tell if I've made the right choice! Gordon R
Fausti are okay, but resale values are the pits. Stick with Beretta, Browning and Miroku. All have had chrome lined barrels for over 12 years, so pitting should not be a feature. For your sort of money, you can get one which has fired less than a 1000 shells. HDAV
New miroku no warranty? Hmmmmmm fishy as the warranty under EU law is with the retailer not the manufacturer.........sale of goods etc.... Forget new look at gun trader watch etc buying a shotgun isn't like a car
