Gun safe required must be like 8 bolt

Recommended Posts

Hi, I need a cabinet to pass my application for my SGL and needs to be similar to the Buffalo Q3115 which has single thick bolts all around the door.

Anyone selling one or suggest where they may of seen a good selling price that may have been spotted local to Notts recently?

You mean like a vault style door?

Have a look at a Brattonsound cabinet - they're all 'police approved' / BS 7558. Brand new they start from around £160, but on fleebay you can pick them up for half that. :good:

Thanks peeps.

I've called them back to discuss other options. Seems I can install in the loft with the need for same cabinet and need for lock and steel backing on loft and put in loft board to the cabinet. I can get hold of some boards and locks and steel. Anyone else installed in the loft and any issues with rust occurring quite quick or can anyone suggest an idea to help prevent rust?? Eg air tight bag ? Ideas please!!!

have a look at brattonsound safes, there is also someone on here who can do you a decent deal. They are a decent quality, location wise I'd usually try and avoid the loft as for starters its a pain to put the guns away when you come home late and secondly due to the corrosion problems. If you do go down that route then you either need a small heater in it or you may find you have to clean and oil them before they go away every time then wipe down and re oil occasionally. In my last house mine was in a built in cupboard that was locked, it wasn't for any reason other than the cupboard was there but it was an easy option. In your case make sure you use resin bolts as they really don't come out, then make the secondary door of whatever you can

Mine is in the loft, I have the adv of having a propper saircase to get into the loft. So access is no issue.

My loft is very dry, but believe you can get some sort of patch made by napier that is supose to help with rust pervention which i am looking into for over winter.

Because I need a brattonsound St7 I have my fully carpeted 3 gun cabinet for sale. As new and been fitter for 2 months with no damage etc. taking a loss on it but want £80 and buyer collects from Nottingham.

Has handle, top and bottom 3 pin locks with two sets of keys, no wall bolts and meets BS Standards. Just cause I've been burgled before I need a vault type safe.

PM me
