Lord Geordie
Guy! Just a quick heads up! I bought some AA batteries for my Digital Camera last month from Fleabay. They were BTY 3000mah NiMh allegedly? I received the batteries and due to circumstances at the time simply popped them in the drawer! I took them out just the other day and charged them, put them in the camera and never even got a shot before they died? I read the battery and apparently they need 245ma to charge! My charger was pushing out 120ma, so I bought a new charger from Maplin and.tried again. After 10 mins the charger said the batteries were full so I tried them again. 4 pics and flat again. I have done a bit of digging online, and apparently these BTY batteries are copping a lot of flack! Apparently they are actually 800ma packaged as anything from 2000 - 3000 mah. Steer well clear of them on the bay. Save your money and buy branded. I just got Duracell 2450mah instead and what a difference. I managed to get 8 AA duracell rechargable batteries for under £14. I have also found recently certain car parts are inferiour also. Buy stuff local if possible as it's easier to sort if they are sub standard! Alanl50
I have to be honest I have bought all my rechargable batteries off of Fleabay even some from China but all were good. You do have to be carefull about the recharging rate of the batteries you require for your charger, vice versa. Alan
Fuji Shooter
as you said "8 Duracells for £14" why even bother with fleabay just to save a couple of quid.
bruno22rf
Bin using Vapex (Vapextech) for over 3 years now in my cameras (I collect 35mm jobbies)-bought off the bay and beat Duracell hands down with higher mAh-Duracell are only just starting to catch up,output wise, but,in my opinion, are over priced and dont last as long. station
We all spend hundreds of pounds on electrical gear and then turn into cheapskates when it comes to batteries ! I always buy Ansmann rechargeable batteries - not the most expensive, but absolute quality. Even Toshiba and Sony have had problems with laptop batteries which have caused equipment to set on fire !! Buying cheap batteries can have major fire safety implications - How many of us leave batteries charging overnight or when we are out. One of my brothers bought some cheapie ones and they literally melted the charger. My advice is too spend a couple of extra quid and get decent, named brands - especially where children are going to use. My eldest brother is a station officer with the fire service and he can tell absolute horror stories. Just my thoughts. ATB
