Yoggy
All Pike to be returned alive on all W`sey waters!!!!!!!. Although a few EE`s dont seem to grasp the meaning of the word "Alive"!! !!! Great looking Pike though.
pegasus bridge
nice pike, very thin looking, excuse my ignorance to this, but is a 'splash' a flooded area?

Yoggy
No offense Yoggy I still fancy that Walton Pike recipe though ! None taken mate, I knew where you were coming from. Pike numbers have taken a serious decline in recent years especially on our waters. I`m not blaming the EE`s for every Pike being taken, but they have certainly helped in a big way for dwindling numbers. Being the Bailiff I can account for more incidents of BBQ`d Pike and other fish than you chaps would believe. Something seriously has to be done otherwise there will be no fish left in our waters. nic
In some ways, you can't blame them though... when I lived in Germany you went to the same office to be a permit to shoot boar and deer as you did to fish. they thought it was strange that we threw them back and in fact keepnet use was banned. understandable when you realise how far they are from the sea compared to us, so seafish out of equation. Apparantly Zander is nicer than trout or salmon! and wet fish shops have live carp in tanks for you to choose!

I agree all pike should go back alive , but technically speaking if it was caught out of a splash in a field from a flooded drain does it count as whittleseys water ? Your bang on about the EEs they are the sole reason I have not bothered pike fishing for the last three winters .

They understand they are not in EE, and should respect our law. At the very least, if they want to take fish out they should pay to fish a stocked trout water, and not decimate our already pressured rivers and lakes, they could even really go all the way and buy a fishing licence as well! The EA should start to really crack down on this, i'm fed up with buying a fishing licence and watching this happen.

Your bang on about the EEs they are the sole reason I have not bothered pike fishing for the last three winters . You are right mate, this wouldn`t technically be classed as a W`sey water. I probably should have worded my last post a bit more clearer. I was trying to state that ALL pike are to be returned on Wsey club waters. Obviously the Pike in Question does not enter the equation. But ALL proper Pike anglers in the UK DO return them. I`m afraid the issue with the EE`s has now got out of hand, and like yourself have become disillusioned with the powers that be of their lack of commitment with protecting and proper bailiffing of our waters. I to spend less time Pike fishing.
