eastlincs
Anybody recommend a good jacket, as in jack pyke, deer hunter etc.....any good recommendations?
V8 90
The Jack Pyke ones are OK for the ££'s but they make our arms sweat like - a sweaty thing for some reason. I have 1 & I wear it more than my Musto Camo Jacket (excellent) as it's darker coloured HTH
Big Mat
I've got a Cabelas one and it is very good! Tidepool have got some in now but the price is abit higher than if you bought it direct from Cabelas!
jam1e
I have the Jack Pyke Hunter 3 - 1 Hunter in camo. I also have there Hunter trousers. Very happy with both. If too warm i take the camo fleece out and just use that. Althought i've not tested the fleece in the rain... Zulu
I have the Jack Pyke Hunter , comfortable/quiet and warm but dripping with sweat/moisture after a few miles walking .
Fib new
Rivers west eider.... Expensive but worth the money in my opinion. I'm out almost every day for geese and duck, never been cold so far and even better.... Never been wet since I have this jacket.

They seem a good second choice, than the Jack Pyke Hunter and not that much more money.... Edited December 12, 2012 by jam1e

Fib new
Only negative things about Rivers West are price and a small gamepocket.

caeser
Seeland keeper Erase. Believe me, it's the best by FAR that I have owned, and I've had some different makes. Also the camo pattern is really versatile and effective. Seeland is part of Harkila I believe, so you know it's quality.
Mangled99
Just noticed Wearite do them, if they are as good as the Milair jacket that I have from them then you won't go far wrong. Was out beating in my Milair yesterday in rain that was horizontal came home bone dry and was warm all day. http://wearite-clothing.webs.com/jackets.htm
clumber
Deerhunter for me. The drop-liner in my very old Montana jacket wore through so i e-mailed them to see if they sold just the liner. To my surprise they sent me a brand new one free of charge from Denmark. Cant fault the service or products.
eastlincs
this may sound daft, but do i really need a camo jacket for pigeon shooting? im a newbie so if its stupid, i dont know what you really need to be wearing hense why im asking. i like the deerhunter but i prefer the plain green one http://www.marshfarmcountry.co.uk/mens-clothing/montana-jacket-5-in-1.html would this be ok? clumber
Yes. Most quarry species pick up on movement over what cammo pattern you have on. Have a look at this weeks Fieldsports Britain should answer a few questions. As for the mankini, that's your choice Sorry, the 'Yes' was for the jacket being OK. eastlincs
thanks for that ive just watched the video, i was just about to say are you saying yes i need camo or yes the jacket would be ok, still undecided though. Im thinking a plain colour so i could use it for more than just pigeon shooting, as in wear it for clays when cold or for anything really where as camo i wouldnt wear anywhere other than out shooting in fields
