cooooper1 Posted December 25, 2012 Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 hi all, i bought my winchester sx3 about a year ago from local shop brand new,the guns been working brill till but 2 months back when out of the blue flames started coming out of the action bolt mostly on the second cartridge but now and again 3 shot to, i when went back to this shop(which i want name though i should)where the gun was bought with nothing but try this try that in other words they did`nt give a damn about me or the gun,i then tryed a newly opened gun shop even closer than the another one which helps but total different to the other shop could`nt be more helpfull,this shop let the gunsmith look at the gun and came up with carbon build up around the ports,after a couple of days i had the gun back and went out decoying the gun was back to it`s old self that was till last week --same problem flames coming from the action. i`m not having any misfires or jamming from the gun just which is a big JUST flames coming out of the action,anybody had this problem or got any solutions to this Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

solz Posted December 25, 2012 Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 this is an interesting topic for me as im have been looking into getting an sx3 ( im left handed so the flame would be in front of my face :( ) sounds like a good clean helped solve the problem for a bit, try giving it a good clean again and using different cartridges? maybe the carts you are shooting are causing carbon build up? yets us no what you try and how you get along, ATB and merry xmas solz Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Cannon Posted December 25, 2012 Report Share Posted December 25, 2012 I sometimes get massive flames coming out of the gun when it ejects. Doesn't do any harm as the flame isn't around long enough to do any damage. It does look great in low light, but if shooting any right handed semi auto left handed, safety glasses are a must. Just one of them things with some carts. that could be my gun with flames coming out,nasty stuff,i`ve put different makes and sizes threw it and still flames,i`ve also cleaned the gun to make sure of no carbon build up again. don`t get me wrong the flames may only be 1--20 cartridges but it`s still off putting to see flames going from the wrong end of your gun?,also forget to say when i bought my sx3 on the same day my mate bought his (good deal 4 two guns)and he`s most probs put more shot threw his than mine with not one single misfire,jam or flames from his and he`s only cleaned his ONCE?(not fair). Can you adjust the gas valve? with victory carts i used to get flames out the end of a 30" OU! Look at the powder in your normal carts and try something loaded with a faster powder? Alan NB Just as a note I always keep a couple of the "Slilca gel" things in My cartridge bag to keep damp away and when I taking slab to and from a shoot area I put them in one of those plastic sealed boxes with more more of Silica gel bags, to keep the moisture down. walt1980 Posted December 26, 2012 Report Share Posted December 26, 2012 I brought an Armsan s/a last year and it was fine n never missed a beat, used Fiocchi carts at a clay range n it kicked 3 or 4 flames out, tried a mates carts, eley I think, n no flames! 0145wirbelwind Posted January 3, 2013 Report Share Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) I have had the same problem with my 391 beretta now and again. I put it down to felt cartrigdes. I find they run really dirty and if i put a lot throw then the gun might flame but not all yhe time.
