I make my own floaters very similar to the one shown, just take a full bodied decoy, fit foam wings and tail, find balance point, like triming a model plane, and mount to rod with a pivoted mount on the balance point, so the decoy can rise and fall on the wind like a model glider, add weight to the head or tail to get the balance exactly right, not easy but very effective.

Im impressed by the flappers, will make that my next project to try to reproduce, very interesting shape.

i thought that, looks good on the rotary but at £20 each bit dear

 

Speak to Hawkeye on here he makes them and they are cheap. I have 2 they work a treat.

 

thought he had done a thread on them but could not find it

Just took delivery of two of Hawkeye's floaters. Yet to shoot with them but will be setting them up in the field behind the house to see if they draw any in. They look well made. I certainly wouldn't want to make 2 for £72

 

Glad they arrived OK Graham don't forget £12 of that was just postage.... :sad1:
