TJ91
I rarely use a seat. A glider/floater is a must in my set up. 12 seeks, gun and carts That's all you will need Spend more time on recon than you do shooting and you will get results

fenboy
Put some more netting on your list of future purchases , 4 meters of stealth net is not going to be enough for all occasions , if you need to set up in the open then thats only going to give you a hide 1 meter square , also I find the stealth nets a little too see through and tend to use them as a inner with more netting around the outside , I carry 5 different nets 4 of which are 4 meter , I have also just ordered a new 5 meter net , I think I may have a net fetish !! TJ91
Colour doesnt matter to much, the hide is to break up your outline and stop them seeing the movement. Stay motionless and the won't see you
Sx3 clay breaker
Oh that why I bough new net cause I thought this stuff would be rubbish because of the colour Rgds scott
TJ91
Oh that why I bough new net cause I thought this stuff would be rubbish because of the colour Rgds scott Movement is most important thing...(along with recon before the shoot day) Keeping as still as possible is the key...don't move until you are going to shoot

TJ91
Thanks mate appreciate it No problem Try different patterns and set ups. Don't be afraid to nip out of the hide and move your deeks around if the birds aren't committing to the pattern.. It's trial and error. It will all come with experience (and patience)... Good luck with it
aga man
not a bad idea to carry some string {baler twine} zip ties, some sort of hedge clippers and a small hammer, all come in handy when making a hide. if you have any old bike wheels laying about cut off the spokes with side snips. these are good for putting out dead birds. stick the spoke into the head and it props the head up. don't leave em lying around though as this will **** the farmer off! don't forget your camera to show us all your bag. I agree. I also take about 5 nets out with me and can sometimes use them all if required. To the OP - I would also buy more hide poles. I sometimes use as many as 8 if a big hide is required. I also find that 4 isn't enough for a hide in the middle of a field.
THE GRIFF
Me and a mate were out on Saturday shooting over some rape in different hides, we were shooting where we had seen 100's of pigeons the day before. I set up with 2 hyper flaps on bouncers, one of hawkeye's floaters, a flapper and a dozen flocked shells in my hide made with 4 poles and a net, my mate had a simular hide with a dozen fuds. My cousin turned up about 8.15am, half an hour after us with a gun, cartridges and 4 dead birds as decoys, no net, poles or gadgets, we sat there and watched every pigeon decoy straight to him, he had 41 pigeons in an hour and a half and we hardly had a shot. Sometimes it doesnt matter what gear and gadgets you have its just about being in the right place and having experience, he was only 100 yards from me.
