Spiderdude
I used "Don't Panic" image recovery software when I wiped an SD card. Worked perfectly, well almost, lost 3 pics (I think)

m3vert
Might be a bit more tricky if the files are currupt Im afraid :( I took a card into Jessops after having issues with corrupt files after trying to recover them myself with no success, they recovered some but not them all!! Sadly even Jessops aint there now :( Good luck and for god sake make sure important images are backed up on at least 2 drives at all times! Hard drives have two modes and they are 1.Failed 2. Waiting to fail!!!!
V8landy
Hard drives have two modes and they are 1.Failed 2. Waiting to fail!!!! How true! It is just **** law that when I am wiping my pc, the back up goes wrong!. It is looking like CRC error. I have most things elese where, but just need a couple of files off it. I am running chkdsk G: /f /r on it now, and then somone at work has other "psecialist" software that might work. I have used photbucket in the past, so will push on with that, but also another cloud one like google drive. Anyway fingers crossed it will work. super sharp shooter
I used a company called find my data when we lost over 1000 contacts on a USB that were corrupt. They only charged us £40. )
GingerCat
Lots of data recovery services don't use the usb stick and don't try to fix it if you don't know what your doing, simple really. Send it off and get it recovered. Nothing, jot one thing is ever deleted ever until written over, if corruption is the issue an algorithm is aplied and it can normally be recoverd. V8landy
Thanks guys I think I am making progress. I am now using Photobucket linked to the wifes facebook, so finding loads of pics we had forgotten about. And the holiday from last year, I remembered we lost our camera before we went away on holiday so borrowed my parents, so pics should be still on their card as they barley know how to turn it on. Looks like crisis averted, but just shows how quick things can go wrong when u do not know what you are doing!!! Multiple back-up is the way forward and some paper and cds thrown in as well.
