Archie-fox
Spare battery is always good, but in the specifications on the web site it tells you what to, and what not to, use dependent upon your proposed usage. May be worth a read. just going to clip it on the scope for foxing and rabbiting, no night vision use...
al4x
As said depending which led you are using some can have their range extended with a second battery, but you need the housing extension to go with it. You can buy the batteries from them or elsewhere they are available online. Other extras depend what colour LED's you want and whether you want the remote switch, I didn't bother and to be fair I've not had any issues with using the switch with it mounted on the rifle
Gimlet
I'd definitely buy the second battery and extension tube. Both fitted will extend the run time for foxing trips or long stake-outs on the rabbits, or you can carry the second battery fully charged in the little plastic box it comes with so you've got a spare. They give you no warning when they're getting low, they just go out. I don't know whether two batteries extends the range of the visible LEDs but they do with IR. I sent my Pulsar N550 back to Thomas Jacks for a warranty claim recently. They sent a replacement return of post and I've found that the Nightmaster is too bright with the new sight if both batteries are used. At .22 rabbit ranges even with the contrast turned right down and the NM beam adjusted the target gets washed out by the light at close range. Seems fine with just the one battery. I guess my replacement Pulsar is more sensitive than the old one. I don't understand how more battery power can increase illumination, but clearly it does. Haven't tried going from one to two batteries with the red LED yet. I too don't bother with the remote switch. I'm invariably shooting off sticks and I just the button on the torch. Works fine and its quiet.

steve_b_wales
Who makes the NM torch is it a Chinese make or from the usa I believe they are made in China, and imported to the USA and the UK. I tried dealing with a company in China, but they would not send anything to me directly. I've recently purchased a Xsearcher torch with red l.e.d. and also an IR one. It also came with an extension tube, a spare neck and pressure switch. I had this through a friend of mine in the USA who purchased it for me and sent it over. It was a hell of a lot cheaper that buying it over here.

al4x
the whole point of the NM is it doesn't require filters that cut down on light output I'd be inclined to think BB is entirely correct.
