Hamster
I had 876 yesterday (only picked just over 700) and pictures to prove it although kind of pointless as I know it doesn't count for a record as they were all shot flighting. pigeonblasterian
Did you not bother to go roost shooting after the decoying.
caeser
Yeah,if you had gone roost shooting, then you might have made the big 1000.
Hamster
How many shots? Less than the birds gathered actually, as you can imagine the sky was blue with them most day and I used a speshol spreader choke with 7's and picking my shots carefully to avoid anything higher than 50 yards it was possible to down 2-3 birds with a single shot on occasion. I got a mate to set up with deeks downrange and he managed over 200 with his 410. If we went back there 14 days running I expect a near repeat performance every day but it is very very tiring I tell you. turbo33
There was talk on here a while ago about a pigeon attractant scent which we all know was bull****. However, the idea seemed a good one and the good news is that Bluebarrels has been working on this for some time in secret, and the results are devastating No more watching the flocks on the rape lifting off and disappearing. We field trialed it last week on some rape and it was like a scene from the Hitchcocks, "the birds". Kind of almost spoilt the day when we hit the 320 mark by lunchtime, but we still had some misses too. My shoulder is still recovering
pigeon controller
only 14 days consecutive shooting..pah!! i would expect at least 16 even with the drillings covered in snow Why can't you put a candle on the broom head and sweep the snow off the drilling at night so you can keep shooting ? JDog
No need for gimmicks. I only needed another 704 after tonight's roost shooting to beat the record.

Hamster
I forgot to mention the way I avoided excessive recoil with all this shooting was that after a while (200 shots or so) I figured out that resting the gun vertically against my body I was able to anticipate the perfect moment to fire directly upwards by watching the birds shadows as they closed in. This also helped avoid potential neck strain not to mention keeping my face hidden beneath the camo cap. Unfortunately this also meant not being able to mark every single one of the fallen hence only collecting 700.
