WGD
Depends how much Glenfiddich you've had and how much you like it!
mark@mbb
A 308 Glenfiddich is a nice tipple as a all rounder

kent
.243 win is a novice rifle or a gun of the more experienced, its the middle ground between were it meets problems. It can do anything in the UK short of Boar on safety grounds with correct bullet selection for purpose. As for malts its a matter of personal taste but .243" and .308" are the most popular deer rifles in the UK.
matone
It`s more the swiss army knife of british rifle usage, nothing it can`t do .

J.C
It's primarly a varmint round that is also classed as deer legal, I use a .243 for fox's and roe, it's spot on for that.
Dekers
Many people have 1 rifle to take out for deer, I have three, a .223, .243 and a .308. I know what I, and the rifles and ammo can achieve, I take out the most appropriate for any situation, that is much more commonly the .243 than the .308 for deer, and .223 for the smaller. The .243 is without doubt better in some situations, but a bigger calibre will be better in other situations, it isn't a matter of knocking the very capable .243 or suggesting the .308 is overkill. Use what you need!
