TIGHTCHOKE
Try your local pubs that do good homecooked food. Or contact a Game Dealer!
fletch2
good question fella, i myself live about 6 miles from a game dealer and he does not take them frozen like he said you shouldnt freeze meat twice!!! i just drop my birds of at the end of the day or the next one. i get a tally of him and every month or so i go collect some cash of him, tho i give him it back for cartridges! but it works for us both so all good. cheers Edited April 9, 2013 by fletch2
halfbee
Eat them as beef mince. Crown them in the field, breast them at home and then mince them. I use pigeon mince in place of beef for everything - chilli, bolognase etc etc.

It would be good to hear posts of your outings, where you were, the crop you were shooting over etc. Have you put something up recently? The game dealer I use in Norfolk will take frozen birds with no issues.

old rooster
Don't forget the ludicrous legislation that requires the seller to have the certificate mentioned below if selling to a game dealer (who you might be forgiven for thinking might be able to tell a good bird from a bad one) but can give them to friends, (who might well be less likely to be a le to tell the difference) without the certificate. Sound back to front? Well that is how it is. From the BASC website: A Lantra Award Level 2 “Wild Game Meat Hygiene” certificate is required to sell pigeons to an Approved Game Handling Establishment. Contact BASC Shooting Standards department 01244 573018 for further details.

kippylawkid
No game dealer in north northumberland. Used tobe one in Rothbury but they packed in. Try local pubs/restaurants. Shame to waste them.
