captainsensible
Sorry, a bit late: Had an afternoon out on a recently drilled field on Thursday. Drove there in 12 degree sunshine. It was forecast for some light rain but I can tough that out, can't I? An hour later I was being pelted with hailstones...in April...between sunny spells...brought a fishing brolly Saturday (just as my clothes dried out). Any way, they didn't seem to like the floaters on the day so took them in and just progressed with 20 shell decoys. Had a reasonable run of singles and ended up with11. Should have been more, as always. I was using the shot birds as decoys and had about five out when a large bird of prey flew over my hide, dropped in and helped himself to a takeaway. It was way too big for a kestrel and to me it looked like a small Buzzard but I didn't think they were this far East. Well yesterday, driving home from Upminster there were two Buzzards flying over a small wood so it looks like I might be right. They are such beautiful creatures, I don't mind sharing. Frenchieboy
It's called giving a little bit back to nature! You can see some trully amazing sights when you are sat still in a good hide, which all adds to the pleasure of shooting.
Grandalf
Buzzards all over the place up here where I live in North Suffolk. (Just 9 miles in from the east coast). Been here for several years now. They take a fair toll of the pigeons.

You are right Frenchie Just because you take care of pests doesn't mean that you can't have a love of Nature Usually quite the opposite Just see the photos by Greengrass, docholiday & others and comments by shooters who have enjoyed their day in the hide even with a zero result. cwmmawr
Loads around the brecon beacons at the moment saw 7 in air at the same time last week. See them wobbling behind the ploughs as well at the right time of year, getting fat on worms.
