Archie-fox
Managed to get out for the afternoon on the crows...set up at 3pm with 6 crow decoys lofted in the trees...we knew the crows flew along this line on there way to the farm..me and my mate managed about 25 or so but only found about 18 some on the barn roof or in thick brambles..packed up at 6:30pm... Used my faithful hatsan escort..

Archie-fox
Well done Rich not seen a pic of you with a shotgun. ATB Terry Yea got a couple but still can't hit much with them..24 shots for about 10 crows, my mate bagged the rest..for some reason there really hard to shoot, I was using 36grm 5s but they are tough to drop...but I'm my defence they were screaming in mostly straight at us with there wings folded back as they were about to land...made a good dent in them tho... They are great fun to shoot, i use 7.5 on jackdaws No 6 32 gram on carrion and rooks. Don't have any prob in killing them stone dead with them cartridges. All of my crow shooting have been using 1/4 and 1/2 choke, when i had a auto 1/4 choke. Trouble with crows they don't fly bloody straight always swaying, so you got to concentrate on their flight not like pheasants etc that you just swing through. You might be giving them to much lead as well. Will be out myself next few days,my back still bad waiting on a MRI scan on it.
