Mentalmac
Hi Guys, Does anybody ever drive their vehicle to within shooting distance of bunny warrens and await for ambush in the safe comfort of the vehicle? potentially with back door open and net hung from roof to floor? Would that work? Wouldn't the bunnies take one look at a huge thing plonked in a field and not want to come out? Sorry for random question - was just curious whilst happily working away. Mentalmac
Oh yes - the subject of debate on the other thread. (I was under the impression that if it's stationary and keys not in ignition and you aren't in drivers seat it wouldn't be an issue. haha guess I'll be back to laying in the grass :-) Its illegal to shoot from a a car etc as far as Im aware :( would be handy though

fenboy
Its only illegal to shoot birds from a vehicle as far as I am aware , otherwise almost all of us who go lamping rabbits / fox are doing so illegally

Mentalmac
Cheers guys, well in that instance, luckily I am hopefully picking up a shogun on the weekend! and will also have my FAC in the next 3 weeks (Fingers crossed it's not delayed!) Bonus! Hopefully my having to pretend to be a bush 30 yards from a warren will be less so (I do enjoy it, but would enjoy not having to pretend to be a bush equally!) Do you just leave the windows/sunroof open for when you need to take shot?

Yep, my buddy drives, I use the passenger window making sure we circumnavigate the headlands so I'm always facing them, heated seats on, radio and a pack of tabs to smoke. masmiffy
Its illegal to shoot from a a car etc as far as Im aware :( would be handy though This 'theory' kinda fu ck s up every person who goes lamping doesnt it? If you call police and say your off out lamping they generally ask 'will you be using a vehicle' As for shooting thro windows that makes lamping far to restrictive we have 'adapted' a Vitara so we stand in the back and are thro a hatch in the roof!! Kinda like a tank turret. There is a sheet of 'plastic' ply for a secondary roof which gives a flat platform for the bipod and 360 degree vision and movement. It the dogs nuts as far as a lamping wagon goes!!

What I really mean was 'do you leave windows open' or do you open it up when you see the bunny!' haha however my overactive mouth threw out some nonsense :-)

But thanks :-). Will leave them open. Has anyone ever heard of anyone shooting their own wing mirror off? (Scope over barrell etc...?) al4x
I've a mate who put a hmr round through the A pillar from the bonnet, when I'd stopped laughing it was apparent the scope nicely sat higher than the barrel so he hadn't seen it. in your case easiest place to sit is usually the drivers seat with the rifle rested on the mirror
