Cartridges for hatsan escort

I've heard the gun can be quite fussy with cartridges so does anyone know of any cartridges which work perfectly in these guns

Most 2&3/4 shells min 28 grams.

We use a mixture of shells from 21g Steel 7.5s up to 30g Lead 6s, they all cycle without any problems

Your going to get mix reviews on 65 and 67mm carts, but I think most people will say if you keep the fun clean and oiled ect that 70mm carts will work fine, and as said above min of 28g

i only use 70mm to be on the safe side but you can try 67mm and 65mm and i also use at least 27g but yes you can try 21g see what happens

the thing is find out which size/weight it doesnt like and keep it clean especially the gas holes in the barrel, use pipe cleaners to clean them

I think it depends what its chambered for I have a 3 1/2 MAGNUM and it will only cycle 3 if they are 70mm and gamebore clear pigeon seem to work well. It will cycle anything smaller if its only loaded with 2

I use Gamebore clear pigeon 32g ...No.6 shot for pigeon shooting and I've used 1000s and never had a problem

eley pigeon no6 70mm and fiochi top 1 ,67mm 28g put couple of thousand through and about a hundred reloads no jamms at all.just clean it after every use n oil dat o ring

Mine does everything above 21g hull comp x but i'm normally shooting rio 28g 7 1/2's for clays and practical

i have put 8-9 k through mine in the six years i'v had it with the only time it jammed being my fault by using 65m/m cases 67.5> or longer should give you reliable use ps never used anything lighter than 24gs

I stick to 70mm cartridges and 28gs minimun only had 3 jams and that was with 65mm cartridges out of 5-6k.

Any one used any "high brass" carts with them? I understand semi-autos don't always appreciate these?

i've put high brass buckshot, 36 gram and 50 gram No. 4 shot. apart from the mammoth recoil, the gun worked fine everytime

Agreed, mine will cycle any load as long as they are 70mm upwards, RC titanos is what I've been putting through it.

Eley HB pigeon 32g 6.5's 67mm.

 

My mate sticks them through his Hatsan and it shoots really well up to 40 yards. Watched him shoot it Sunday and he nailed crows and pigeons good and proper (using 3/4 choke) out at 40 yards.

 

I prefer 70mm carts in mine as I was trying to avoid any jamming issues that had been mentioned. Got on well with Gamebore Clear Pigeon 30g or 32g 6's (70mm).

 

As has been said - keep the gun clean - don't over oil it and look after the `O` ring(s).

The only carts you will need, keep your gun clean and your check your choke every now and then . Easy
