demonwolf444
Essentially never done much rat shooting, but recently ive been shooting more and more,,, and more. When its just one or two its easy to chuck them in a hole. But the new place ive got its more like 20+ per outing ( its discusting ha) and so thats quite a big hole to dig. If i dont bury them other rats just eat them. How do you dispose of these horrible creatures?

FalconFN
20 isn't too many to spread underneath a hedge, well away from buildings and footpaths.
demonwolf444
I noticed two that i had missed from last night had been chomped on by other rats by this morning. Ive had six outings every day to the same spot ( a rotten sugar beat clamp that's been emptied ish ) and it seems after six days they have started to get wary. Day 1: 3 (walked past spot ) Day 2: 12. ( didn't go to the exact place - just went near it) Day 3: 17 (Me and Guest -should have had more but couldn't stay long) Day 4: 26 ( Right time and right place ) Day 5: 6 ( not me, other guy with permission - very poor eye sight - and the rats are hard to pick out against the straw and rotten beat) Day 6: 5 ( Me and other Permission holder) We gave up as it was very slow, but i went to pick up our bait jar ( a pungent mixture of veg oil peanut butter and cat food, blended and warmed for added aroma) and the straw bales that ingeniously made up the sides of the clamp ( and now the rats homes ) were still alive with activity, the whole bales move and rustle as you approach. Plan is to give it a rest for two weeks, let them build up confidence again, then hit them hard. Failing that get the Kramer and shake the bales apart with a few guys poised with 12G's. They are all getting chucked in a hole the farmer has dug for us, back filling it by hands a pain though. I would chuck them on an "outdoor incinerator" but currently that not an available option, nor is the hedge back due to the large number of footpaths and dogs in the area. Vince Green
If you put them down the end of my garden they would all be gone by next morning. The foxes would take them all. And before you ask, no I don't mind the resident urban foxes
