sitsinhedges
28 grams of no6 in fibre makes a sturdy all round cartridge for 20gauge as long as the gun isn't too light for the recoil.
grahamch
7/8 no 7 hull high pheasant or something similar
robbiep
Anything in No. 4-6, 25-32 gramme, depending on the gun weight, how it handles.

Q West
I use Gamebore Gold 5's in 30grams for game shooting and Hull 6's in 28grams for pigeons, crows and rabbits (only because I had a spare slab left over from a previous season). Dont notice any differance in recoil between the two. For pest control you dont need to go higher than 28 grams and size 6 shot, I've had exceptional kill rates on 7.5 size shot in the past. Cranfield
Gamebore Traditional Game, 28gms No6 fibre wad, probably the best 20b cartridge there is.

goodshot
i would use something 5-7 , 24 - 25 grm , there's no point of having a lighter gun and using a 28 grm cartridge , if your going to use a 28 grm stick to a 12 as there cheaper
AlistairB
Dont forget, Black Gold Game are going to be released in 20 bore in time for the game season. If they're anything like the 12 bore load, you'll struggle to beat them, but they may be a bit pricey though.

I don't even notice recoil with my 20gauge shooting 28gram loads. It's a 6 3/4lb gun though. Nice to walk around with but still man enough for shooting at a decent range. Cranfield
I have a Benelli semi auto 20ga , weighs 6lb 4ozs and recoil is not a problem with 28gms.
steve_7
5s 32g in hushpower.... got 6's 30g and cant really tell the difference.. however i am swinging a drainpipe lol. recoil wise no difference...a tad better pattern at longer ranges with 5s though
