Paladin
Yes they do offer some relief. I've had one for several years, that I have to use when I am desperate for pain relief, it's not for long though (In my case) but I need it when the co-codamol and diclofenac don't have enough effect. I managed to get a good one second hand. My sympathy as spinal pain is nasty. Paladin
ack-ack
If it works let me know. I tried the ankle hooks once which gave almost instant relief but I didn't like the intense throbbing in my head caused by being inverted. I didnt much like the golden shower when I wet myself either.
harrycatcat1
My flippin has sciatica returned recently and I have had to resort to diazepam, seem to be dropping to sleep a lot now but the spasms were driving me mad. I think I would hang off the end of a bridge if I thought it would help. Regards Hcc
ack-ack
I think the stretching element is only part of the solution. The other part is good manipulation by somebody that knows what they are doing otherwise when you come back to the vertical (unless you're lucky) the nerv just gets pinched again. Depends on what nerve it is obviously. I had a couple of intercostal nerves get caught after giving it the Viv Richards up the nets one evening. Thought I was having a connery. Penelope
A very good physio and acupuncture helped me immensely when I had sciatica the second time (R leg), although it was twice weekly visits for 4 months. The first time (L leg), 9 years before required surgery to remove the disc and fuse the vertebrae after 2 years of constant pain no matter what drugs were imbibed. I think the stretching element is only part of the solution. Vince Green
Go to an osteopath (not a chiropractor) I do when it gets too bad and it works wonders every time for me. I went to a chiropractor only once, it was a rip off, they 'manipulated' it a bit and said I would need about five more appointments at £40 a time. My osteopath is great. wallop and its fixed. You need to be desperate before you go though because when I say wallop that's what I mean. wallop! I have a sacroiliac belt that I wear when my sciatica gets bad. It does work I bought it from Osteopathic Supplies Ltd 08449 840325 and it was £15.54 item no T236. You wear it like a hipster belt and it pulls the two halves of the pelvis togeather. Like the big leather belts old men used to wear to hold up their trousers years ago. Well, my granda did anyway. Doc Holliday
Any particular connery Rob? Sean springs to mind. You have to remember you ain't a spring chicken anymore. I did my back in whilst wrestling with a honeysuckle one day under orders from Mrs H. I'd already lifted a couple of rose bushes for her but went down like a sack of proverbials with the wretched honeysuckle. did I say I did it whilst gardening? Sorry, slip of the tongue. I was doing something much more manly and rugged but it fails me what at this moment in time. Mrs H thought I was poncing around until I flattened my topiary. I was hobbling around like an old man and threw everything I could at it - chiropractors, osteopaths, tiger balm, deep heat (sometimes both together), acupuncture, you name it. In the end I bought an inversion table off interweb for £150. Best thing I ever bought. I still use it occasionally and will be tonight. I went a bit mad doing deadlifts the other day and I've got the old niggle back again.

Yep, know that one. Emergency visit to the osteo is my only resolution. Usually takes a couple of visits to sort fully but I can function again after the first. Vince Green
Sounds to me like you need one of those sacri-whotsit belts. Is it like a burning sensation?

matone
I`ve suffered with various back problems over the years, each time the only relief and eventual return to mobility has been from visiting an Osteopath.Find a good one and pay, they are worth every last penny imho.
