aris
Nice to see Brits in the two top spots. George Digweed 198/200 Richard Faulds 197/200 ********************************/compak/european-championship/results/2013-italy I find it staggering that anyone can hit 198 targets out of 200. Well, at least at my skill level :-)
aris
Should also mention Cheryl Hall who did 194/200 in the Ladies event - 4th Championship in this discipline in a row.
figgy
Good shooting. I couldn't hit that many if the clay was 200 of the same target. Figgy
Will Poon
Good shooting. I couldn't hit that many if the clay was 200 of the same target. Figgy Now that's an idea , I might try that tomorrow

aris
If you look at the scores, it is all so close. Just one shot difference between 1st/2nd/3rd. These guys must have nerves of steel.

Orangeclay
Who is Digweed?
Gordon R
Digweed is the best clay shooter in history. If he was an American, they would have made him President.
aris
Indeed, he should have a nighthood after than an MBE. Perhaps in time. Does anyone know why he has not gone into Olympic disciplines? Edited July 4, 2013 by aris
Orangeclay
I was kidding, I had the chance to meet him this year and follow him on each station just to steal his secret! Beside the well deserved noble titles, you should clone him to have an other Digweed! His personality doesn't feet the rigid Olympic disciplines He is an artist and the Fitasc and the sporting clays can put in value his talent! He is the Mozart of shotgunning!! Gordon R
I suspect there is less money in the Olympic disciplines. Sporting opens more doors and George is also a business.

Yes that's true.... Picnic last Saturday washed down with a lovely bottle of George Digweed labled Champagne.
Gordon R
Good luck to him. Apart from the talent, he has worked hard to get to and stay where he is. I wrote to the Daily Mail to ask why he wasn't included in their Top 10 All Time Great Brits. I don't expect any change.
skabo1
Our top darts players are amongst the most skilful and talented sports people in the world, do they get any recognition? No!! Working class they are and they draw their fans from amongst the great unwashed. You don't have to pay through the nose to get in to see them so they aren't valued by the style mafia and the lovies. I feel a tremendous pride in what our shooters have achieved perhaps Joe Public underestimates the skills they possess.
Hamster
Good luck to him. Apart from the talent, he has worked hard to get to and stay where he is. I wrote to the Daily Mail to ask why he wasn't included in their Top 10 All Time Great Brits. I don't expect any change. He shot TWO 100 registered ESP straights last Sunday. To put that into some kind of perspective it would be like a snooker player achieving several 147's within a single match, ain't never gonna happen in other words. I have said it before, enjoy the man and his achievements as they simply get better and better, for you will not see his like again. Having said that I disagree that the 10 greatest Brits should include anyone from sport, and certainly not clay shooting because it has little broad appeal or presence. That kind of Greatness needs to have contributed to humanity in some way in my opinion.
aris
He shot 4 shoots at different locations that day. Got two 100/100's, then 99/100, and 69/70. Not bad going.
