Underdog
Yes sir I quit at 16 with a few lost despite my spaniels best efforts....she did do some good retrieves all the same ...always does bless her. The birds were still coming in while I was packing but I had enough to cook with for now. I'm guessing around 35 shots for 16 in hand maybe 20 down. They were coming in so close I was able to drop to 3/4oz loads! Underdog.

Underdog
nice photo U. what do you use for wads in your front stuffer? i spoke to old chap recently and he uses bog roll Anything....appropriate. Sometimes newspaper. Sometimes over shot cards, afew of them but today I used fiber wads soaked in olive oil but split them in half when loading (sometimes being heavy with oil they will give the shot a kick in the back side just leaving the muzzle and help make doughnut patterns so I splits them ). I have used dry leaves before now...a front stuffer smooth bore is a very versatile gun U.
Blunderbust
Is that another Pedersoli? I won one comp and came third in another on the Saturday after I bought the Mortimer from you. That was the first time I shot with it so cant complain. What length of barrels does your double have?

I found this Pedersoli last year, I have had a few but this short model they do was my first and I regretted selling it so when I saw this one I corrected my error How you loading yours sir? U. Matt Matt, it's not about patience or inpatience. More is involved from you directly using a muzzleloader and then every bird or rabbit is worth ten. Then there is the smell and smoke and the sound! There ain't many that try it and escape! U.

Blunderbust
N, I am settled on 500gr no 7 shot and 82 grain black powder which is just bellow the regulation max for the comps. I am finding that I am getting the best performance using this combination having tried a few others. I am doing the national skeet comp on the 22 Sep but that will be using my old Foster double. Nice to see you are still using yours effectively.
