Essex Gun

so back in december I bought a mossberg hushpower 410 from essex gun, it got put in the cabinet for a couple of months before I got around to taking it out, and straight away I started having problems, rather than ejecting the fired cart, it was pulling the brass base off, and leaving the plastic in the barrel, I put this down to a dodgy batch of shells, on the next occasion out, with different carts, more problems, the first cart would not be extracted on pulling back the pump, so the second cart would get ejected, you then had to pull the trigger and pull back the pump again, sometimes it would grab and eject, other times not.

so took it back to essex gun last month on the 17th, and picked up this month on the 19th, so a full month, I asked them to send it back under warranty, and on picking it up, asked if they knew what was wrong with it, they said oh they never tell us that, so took it out today, NO DIFFERENT WHATSOEVER!!!!!!

Im fuming, so should I take it back, asking them to send it back again for a proper repair, or can I demand more under the warranty????

The problem isn't that of Essex gun but Mossberg I sure Essex gun will have done all they can to rectify your problem (send the gun back to Mossberg) but under consumer law you are entitled to your money back , but just be clear, I know the retailer is your first port of call but you can't hold them responsible for the faults of a product they sell.

well, took it back today and they were overly apologetic, said they would return it yet again and get to the bottom of why it was not test fired before returning to them, also reckoned they would try and get it sorted in a shorter time limit, fingers crossed yet again

mine fires the first cart

you pull back the pump, but it wont extract

you then have to forward the pump

which of course makes the second "live" cart eject

you click the trigger

then pull back again,

sometimes it'll eject the first one, other times not

really pot luck

  • 2 weeks later...

Have brought two guns from Essex gun first time i delt with the dad & he was spot on, but his son on the other hand comes across as he doesn't want to deal with you. Had a problem with one of my guns down to me but i've taken it to international firearms to have a look at as are much more helpful & have time to talk with you.

Don't get me started on International Firearms, the guy is an absolute buffoon, I took a gun to him for repair and when I rung him a few weeks later to check on progress he'd completely forgot about my gun and what repair was needed,I went to pick my gun up to take it somewhere else and he's gun room/safe was like a tip, guns on top of guns I had to go in there myself to find my own gun as he'd forgotten where it was and indeed what gun it was.

On the other hand I've used Essex Gun a few times and never had any problems.
