wildfowler.250
Just to mirror the other thread. If you had the choice of 1's or the BB's, which would you opt for? Many thanks

wildfowler.250
Well this is very 50:50 I prefer lead 1's over 3's. But im not sure what the pattern will be like in the steel BBs. Think the steel 1's might lose their poke though at longer range. It's a dilemma Edited September 26, 2013 by wildfowler.
Mr-Sheen
It depends on what choke you have in for how they pattern. Some after market chokes like kicks high flyers say that their tighter chokes pattern well with bigger shot sizes. Theres only one thing to do really isn't there, buy a box of each and test them out
wildfowler.250
Im buying 250 so its a gamble either way

misser
BB's.......
kent
in fairness, there aint a heap of difference- depends how you gun patterns them. look at a steel no.1 against a steel BB some day
babka3487
When I patterned them through my maxus with 2" extended half choke they were almost exactly the same (an average of 3 pellet strikes more with the 1's) both with a decent even spread - in light of this I chose to go with BB but would be more than happy to use either. anser2
Up to 40 yards it does make a lot of difference what size (3-BBB ) you use in steel. Beyond that I find an after choke ( full .700 ) . with BB or BBB gives better results. However I have found that with open chokes and no 3 shot a lot of geese while unable to move are not dead with the 40 yard shots. This is not a problem with BB or BBB. In my Undertaker choke ( regulated for BB and BBB only ) and I get very few wounded birds. Edited September 28, 2013 by anser2
Dominicrobed
I used 1's through a 1/2 choke on Thursday decoying , we shot 19 Canadian / greylag so they worked for me

B525 LIGHT
Just out of interest if you take a look inside a Gamebore BB shell you'll find they are actually US size B or 4.3mm... 135 pellets in the 42 gram shell.

nic
I dealt with John Forseys a couple of years ago and he set up a box 1/2 bb 1/2 2's and charged me the price as if i had bought a slab... can but ask, they can only say yes or no
wildfowler.250
Been using the 42 gram 1's and pretty pleased with them so far! will do fine until I start home loading. B525 LIGHT
I have some shooting over inland flood plains where the duck are often high yet the greys and Canadas quite low. The 1's are ideal for both without constantly changing shells.
