turbo33
Fantastic work wish some one could do one for my cz527 really can't stand mine. How about this? Walnut,Pepper laminate or,Nutmeg laminate. http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/product.htm?pid=12336&cat=1223 I bought one from them for my CZ455. It was a superb stock. I had the pepper laminate. Check the measurements with them so your sure its for your model. The fit was absolutely perfect. They aren't the most communicative company to deal with. Place the order and the next thing you know is a letter from Parcel force to collect it and pay import duty. But the stock arrived in under two weeks. Postage was $68 and I had to pay £25 import duty when I collected it from the parcel force depot. So that would be £88 for the stock delivered plus duty= £113 or near enough. TBH worth every penny Its a shame they don't do the CZ 452's in the thinner barrel channel. I guess the Americans all use the heavy varmint barrel. turbo33
Nice one. I fancy a thumb hole stock on mine. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a nice bit of wood. Does it feel alright with out chequering? Did you use the grinder to get the shape of the stock after you cut it out rough? Hmmm, might have a go at a TH next Yes feels fine without the chequering, very nice in the hand. I haven't a bandsaw, so used a circular saw to get to within 10mm of the rough shape. Then used the grinder/sander to thin down areas like the stock and taper the forend. Then a plane and sanding drums.
rtaylor
You've inspired me. I think I'll be having a look through my dads wood stack next time I see him. I fancy trying something totally different. Cherry or yew maybe. Edited October 20, 2013 by rtaylor

turbo33
I thought the stock looked a little plain, so a bit more wood butchery I slimmed it down a bit more, and carved out a cheek piece for a sporter look. I also fitted a piece of Indian rosewood to the pistol grip. I experimented with several finishes and finally settled on a glossier finish, which does look and feel very nice.( No, not varnish or trueoil !! ) Updated photos.
