-Mongrel-
As per the title, where can I buy a stock blank to suit and old hammergun? Is it viable to do so, or do I need to start from scratch?
Will Poon
Are you after a piece of walnut to make a stock with? If so eBay have quite a few walnut blanks for sale , have you tried a stock maker as well ? Try Dennis at uk gunrepairs http://www.####.co.uk/

-Mongrel-
OK, emailed Dennis, I'm really needing a man with the skills rather than a source of wood, I was wondering if it was possible to buy a shaped stock that you can then take on to cut out for the lock work etc and finish to suit the action? demonwolf444
See the link in my signature to get a bit of an idea as to what goes in to restocking a shotgun. Its quite difficult to do and even harder if you don't have decent tools and such. Plenty of gunsmiths on here do excellent work, but its not a cheap job ( i would have thought ) Edited October 21, 2013 by demonwolf444

-Mongrel-
Team T, I've emailed you for your thoughts on the situation. Demonwolf, your thread is whats persuaded me that I can't do it. I am not a talented wood worker. Welsh, I'll give them a chance to respond, they have my phone number on the email enquiry page they use. -Mongrel-
Hi mongrel, I visited dennis not long ago and the few hours I was there they were very busy to handle phone calls let alone emails, it's best to ring and speak to him In person Hi, I've had a response from one of the associates. I explained the situation and that it wasn't an expensive gun so not worth spending too much on. They can help me and sort out a new stock and forend, and all for the very reasonable START price of £2200. So, while I'm sure that's not unreasonable for what they do, it's way more than I'm going to spend on a gun worth a grand at best in perfect condition! Gunman, you have PM.
