955i
Going out on a limb as there is no picture, if it is plastic fencing held up by posts then it could be reptile or amphibian fencing put around an area to be developed. Otherwise no idea.

beesley121
Hehe. I'm trying to upload a picture from my iphone but it says its too big so don't know what to do. However, in the fields I have permission for, the have a woven material, like the stuff that goes under roof tiles. It runs around the edge of the field about a foot high. It looks like they are planning a Fence or hedge but there's already ones in place
aris
upload to www.imgur.com - they have apps for android/ios. Then just paste the link they provide once you have uploaded.

Otherwise no idea. This is the right answer its either to allow collection of the beasties to re-home them (likely) or to keep them out whilst development takes place or a combination of both. It means your land will be built on at somepoint in the future when all the liittle beasties (shrews/newts) are safe. May take a number of years before it can be confirmed the site is clear. It may however just be a local Uni doing some animal survey work but the first answer is the more likely. Cheers

955i
Yup, amphibian/reptile fencing (not particularly well done I should add). Would make enquiries about planning mate, you may be about to lose your fields unless it is neighbouring land being developed which may have an impact on your shooting anyway. beesley121
Thanks fruity. Hard to believe they would build on this as I would have thought its all green belt. Only the of farm house here and there. How do I find out if planning has been granted

May be nothing more than a barn conversion, but if great crested newt or reptiles are in the area they would have to put the fencing up to keep them out of the construction zone as a condition of planning

It's greeny enviro stuff. until the job was finished and then they rolled the whole lot up and stacked the rolls up. then they put a match to it. clouds of black plastic smoke. The Mighty Prawn
I once saw an amazing thing in Africa where they put miles of this stuff up in a massive V with the bottom of the V open about ten metres then using quads and helicopters they basically stampeded everything in the area through so they could get an accurate number of the various species in the park, I would suggest this would be a much less interesting watch if newts is all they're after, a newt stampede is very dull! malkiserow
It could be for an airport although are a tad too far out even for Boris! ............. I'd just ask whomever gave you permission and all will become clear.
simon1979
yep, must be planning permission on or near to that area, its used for great crested newts. which are being moved or monitored, which is an protected speices.
