wayne916
Couple of us fancy a long weekend away on a shooting holiday, ilfracombe keeps being suggested, any one been or recommend some where by the sea?Ideally Hotel or lodge should have gun security, local shops and a BAR :-) looking at around May 2014

fenman99
A group of us used to go to Dede's in Ilfracombe year in year out moons ago. Excellent testing clays from loads of traps. Great ex spar hotel which has catered for groups of clay shooters for many years. Highly recommended but book early for next year! fenman
Gordon R
Went to Ilfracombe a few years ago - two grounds within a mile of town centre. Both excellent. 100 bird practice every morning. Edited November 7, 2013 by Gordon R

bisondan
I've had several really good trips to Ilfracombe. We shot at the South West Shooting School and stayed at Dedes hotel which Ian and his wife Jackie own (not sure if they still do?), they have loads of gun cabinets in the hotel for storage. Lovely hotel with great food and bar which used to see a fair bit of use which they kept open late for residents. Used to get there Thursday morning and shoot 100 clays Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning and afternoon, then 100 Sunday morning before going home. I don't think we we've shot the same targets more than once, they have so much to go at.
