Trussman
Ruger Red Label 12 Bore Marlin 1895GS in 45-70 Hi HDH Those Ruger shotguns look really nice. Could you tell me what chambers they have?
jcbruno
i believe 12,20,and 16 maybe now and then they make a few in
High Desert Hunter
They are available in 12, 20, and 28. The 12, and 20 have 3" chambers, not sure about the 28. They are a workhorse, not as refined as a Berretta, but they are very stout, and I find mine to be a joy to shoot. Mine is a 12 bore with 28" barrels, and interchangeable choke tubes, it is the shotgun that I grab when I am heading out. http://www.ruger-firearms.com/Firearms/FAF...tion=12%20Gauge Dave

High Desert Hunter
Thank you, for years my passion was single action sixguns, then a brief run with single shot rifles, 1911 style pistols, but these days I find that I like to simplify things, I could very likely get by with just 4 guns, my Ruger shotgun, my Ruger M77MKII in 300 Win mag, my Remington M700 Varmint Special in 22-250, and a good 22LR bolt action (which I don't currently have). I still love to shoot my pistols and revolvers, but their purpose for me is one I wish I didn't need, my eyes aren't what they used to be, so I rarely hunt with a pistol anymore, they are purely for pleasure and defense (which I wish wasn't a requirement, but sadly will always be). Thank you again. Dave

Dave if looking at a good 22lr i would realy sugest the anschutz i have owned one for over a year now and do love it alot and i have owned a few rimfires and having a good one is well worth it and i know what you mean about pistols i have a glock but never realy shoot it i may try and take it to Afghanastan with me and for self defence but dont see my self buying to many more pistols or other thrill gun's myself i want a nice O/U in the future Neil Edited July 12, 2008 by jcbruno
High Desert Hunter
Thanks for the tip, I am thinking another shotgun will be my next purchase, a SxS or O/U in 20ga, most of my hunting here is dove and quail, the 12 works great, but I think a 20 would be superb. Cheers Dave

Shame I probably wouldn't be able to get hold of one overhere They are available here, they are imported by Viking, and they are nice guns. Phone Viking Arms on 01423 780810 and ask for a catalogue and the address of your nearest stockist. Or go to their web site and have a look; http://www.vikingarms.com/mainframe.html

MJN
this is an AYA Model 96, it has a serial nr. 23481 28" barrels fixed choke (17.3 and 17.8 ?) at a guess 3/4 and full. According to AYA :- We let you know that gun serial nº 23481 is model 96- year 1950. Production of this model was stopped a long time ago and this is the only information we have in our records. It's older than me ! Edited July 21, 2008 by MGMan
