Michaeli
So I got a call on Friday afternoon to say my licence was ready if I wanted to collect it. (Had extras added to it inc. .17 HMR) So a quick call to the guy I was buying the HMR off and off I went to collect my licence and new rifle. So after itching to get out to try my new gun Saturday night was soon apon us. So off I went to a new permission I got a few months ago that I have only shot in the day. So I mounted my watec night vision setup to the rifle. And a few hours of walking and wadding (in about 3-5 inches of mud and other (cow) stuff) This is what I came out with - 7 rabbits and 5 hares with another 3 rabbits losted all for 22 shots which I don't think was bad for a first time. sitsinhedges
Hope they're all head shot or you'll have a lot of mush to clean up when you dress them out. I'm always amazed how they can have no external damage apparent but be shredded inside from those ballistic tips

Michaeli
Thanks guys, Most were head shots but a couple of heart/lung shots. Only one bad one which travelled the whole length of the body which was a mess but still got some meat off it. All what I shoot gets eaten (other than crows etc) I keep most of my family and friends toped up with meat. Really enjoy it and trying it on the golf course this weekend. Thanks Michael Edited November 26, 2013 by Michaeli

Michaeli
nice shooting michael, what sort of ranges were you shooting at . looks like you had a great night mate . was a good night, off out again at the weekend and then at the clay club on sunday so might have a rabbit or two for you. Closest one was about 60-70 yards and the hares were taken at about 130 yards. Michael

Michaeli
We were very suprized as well. I think there are two with damaged to the other side and one looks like it exited at the back of the head / neck area. We just put there best side to the camera. We found a couple of the rounds in the ones that were heart and lung shot. There was still quite a bit of blood. Mostly from the hares once we moved them off the bonnet of my brothers car. (Which the police did not like the next day before he washed it off - but that's another story) Michael
