Lanba or bettinsoli

out of the 2 i'd go for the lanber.

there's lots out there in internet land about double discharges on the bettinsoli's, which i always take with a pinch of salt,

but one of the guys at our club bought one new and that did the double discharge, went back to importers, came back with stiff triggers

and now he's having trouble with it not firing the second barrel, so its going back again.

as far as i'm aware lanber no longer exist.

personally would go for a secondhand beretta, miroku, or browning depending on which fits you better and your budget.

I've got personal experience with a Bettinsoli and had close contact with another, as well as friends who've had Lanbers. None of the Lanbers ever gave any trouble whereas both the Bettys did. Lanber may be out of business, but parts and service will be around for years, so of your 2 choices I'd recommend Lanber.

As to the suggestion about Medallists, snapped ejectors are a common failing with them and I doubt Browning has any spares left which would mean sourcing from the makers, Sabatti. They're reasonable guns apart from that, but it would be very much a case of Caveat Emptor.

Got a bettinsoli sporter and never had a problem with it, they did used to have a double discharge problem but that has now been resolved and any old ones should have been sorted under warranty if the owners got on to them. They are now owned by beretta and are made on their machinery, personally I find the lanbers a bit agricultural but that is personal preference and only judged on ones I have borrowed in the field. Good luck with your search and let us know how you get on.

Had my betinsolli for 4 years about 6000 carts and never a problem

Think most double discharges were a few years ago and based upon to much crud in the workings or barrel selector not right over

Good guns with chrome barrels etc and italian made for half the price of the two B's
