yidoharry
Hi guys, not sure if i'm in the right area or not. Im very new to the sport and this site. I've just purchased my very first gun which is a Franchi raptor 720 which came with a full & half choke. I have been informed by my dad's shooting buddies that it's worth me purchasing a 3/4 choke to cover most scenarios. Can someone let me know where the best place to get this from ie direct from manufacturer, gunshop, online etc.....Many thanks in advance, Harry. Guest cookoff013
unless you want to shoot steel shot. dont bother getting the open chokes. choke does not make you shoot better. if you were shooting clays / decoyed pig then the open chokes may help. Gordon R
Had they advised you to buy a 1/4 choke, I would have understood. Save your money - use the 1/2.
aga man
as above stick the 1/2 in and forget about it. it will cover just about all your shooting and steel too if your barrels are stell proofed. if you really need a 3/4 speak to mike at mandels http://www.shotgunchokes.co.uk/shop/basket.php nice helpful bloke and supplies decent chokes at a decent price. owdnorthener
Another for the 1/2 choke, which will be fine for you.

HDAV
Teague will do one to fit if you must TJ McAvoys did have them on sale, if your shooting trap I can understand possibly going for 3/4.
yidoharry
OK That's seems to be pretty unanimous.......No 3/4 choke for me......im decoying pigeons (should have probably made that clear) will this make any difference? Paulywauly
Half choke. Fit and forget! Once you start chopping and changing, if you miss a shot, you will start to wonder if it was the choke selection that caused you to miss! It most probably wasnt. I speak from bitter experience!!! Scully
If it's your first gun then save your money, put in the 1/2, and apart from cleaning, forget about chokes.
