JJaxeman
A freind of mine sent me this . The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car/bike and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used the car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect a NIP with your monthly bill. If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the driver/rider, please sign the petition on No 10's new website. Please pass this on to anyone who owns a car/motorcycle. It affects them http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/

SNAKEBITE
It is a blooming disgrace but i can see it happening. All that untapped revenue it will be something Labour would love to do with all the other parties disagreeing. Then when Labour lose the next General Election the next party will not remove it as they will come up with an excuse and blame Labour. Say goodbye to your car, it will be impossible to afford to own one.
Axe
I was listening to this on the Radio the other day. The proposed system will maintain a revenue of 6billion a year of which the government insist will be a non-profit making scheme. Yeah right! But it will cost 60 billion to introduce!!!!!!! :look: Get signing people.
Dr W
It's disgusting :look: the sooner we get rid of Blair, Brown and the whole Labour government, the better. I've lost track of the number of stealth taxes Labour have introduced, it was around 60 at the last look. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
sussex lad
Signed But it will never happen With nearly 33 million licensed vehicles, travelling 499 billion kilometres the UK how the **** are they going to police that??
NorfolkBoy
They have to be kidding........ :look: I think all these stealth taxes should be renamed YOU-HAVE-TO-BE-BLEEDIN'-JOKING-TAXES Cos to my mind there's nothing particulary stealthy about them..... dazzyboi
Yet more tax that they are going to whack up, aswell as fuel, and road tax.. Its not enough that im doing 280 miles a week commuting to and from work.

Don't get me wrong that shower should be got rid of, but don't expect the stealth taxes to be got rid of when the next shower get in. They will remove a couple as a token gesture but will replace them with others.

They cant make you pay for it though, at the end of the day, aswel as all the other **** we would be paying for to drive, some people cant fork out for it. If they want to implement this system, its something that the government is going to have to pay for to roll out. If they want the government can also pay the salary i wont be getting when i am forced to quit my job..Im already taking £250 out of my salary every month to get to and from work. How much is it going to cost me to get to and from work when they implement this system, keeping in mind i do 250+ miles a week! and thats only business milage
il cacciatore
They don't have to pay for it any more than they have to pay for the over £100 ID card that we will all have to own.
Hunter
I refuse to even sign anything on their website :yp: I doubt this will ever happen. To many cars, to many foreign cars in the UK that wont have trackers.. plus a whole country of people who wont buy the device. But then again this country never stands up for itself do we :look:
dazzyboi
They don't have to pay for it any more than they have to pay for the over £100 ID card that we will all have to own. The ID card is not so bad though, because its one off. This £200 tracking device is just one of the items that has to be payed for in this new ploy to over cost driving, then you have to pay for possible speeding fines, cos come on, how the hell in earth is that going to work?? If they do that we would all be banned from driving within months.... Then there is the cost produced by the milage you do... No chance It wont work because people will refuse to pay for it.. Its like everything else though, the insurance tarrifs (i.e. cheaper if you only drive in the day and dont use the car at night), the toll booths on the motorways..None of them have been implemented

Fitted by h/o and we had NO BLOODY CHOICE> I even have to key in to the machine why I have stopped the vehicle, if I stop for more than 5 minutes. A BLOODY NIGHTMARE !!!!!, AND AS SOON AS MY 6 NUMBERS COME UP the first thing I will do is go out to my van and SMASH THE BA&^&***** TO PIECES. AND PAY THE FINE GLADLY.
