wickedandlazee
Thats the answer i needed as I am also divorced Hilux it is - based on the fact it'll make a good passion wagon ( was thinking of another variation that rhymes with truck there ) too - is it big enough for a double matress??? :o

njc110381
I take it you want a crew cab (because of the kids bit)? If so, the Mitsubishi is very nice (I have one), as is the Nissan. Toyota seem very expensive for what you get, but are good quality. Don't buy a vauxhall brava! EDIT: Don't expect any of them to be cheap to run! Pedro
That was exactly what I was after, but unfortunately they hold their value too well, (if you're after an inexpensive 4WD), hence why I've gone for an ancient land rover. If I could justify/afford it, that's what would be sitting on the drive now. P.
wickedandlazee
Can't be anymore expensive than my omega - it only does 22 mpg and the tyres are extremely expensive as they are W rated ones and as for parts don't get me started there If anything it should be cheaper in the long run. The reliability of the Toyotas is what attracts me- I will be buying second hand anyway as i ain't that rich but my shooting buddy is an ex-mechanic so he should be able to spot any dodgy ones The mitsubishis (a mate of mine uses a L200 for work and swears by it) are also in the frame if i see one at the right price but i have been warned to steer clear of the Nissans as they have a lot of problems with the brakes amongs other things apparently. Anything made by Vauxhall is obviously a No No Thanks for the advice

plinker
Hiluxs are rust buckets. bolloxs mega reliable masive service intervals compared to a landcruiser basic compared to a landrover space age dont get stuck buy one you will not regret it look on hpoc.uk.co plinker
il cacciatore
They may be reliable and good vehicles but the rust problem isn't something that should be overlooked. I feel anyway.

njc110381
Never heard that about Nissans. A few of my mates have them, and haven't had any trouble. The main attraction for the L200 is the fact that the new shape has just arrived. That always dents the value of the old models
Gordon R
Toyota - overpriced and rust buckets. Nothing wrong with Isuzu (They made Brava). Best Crew cab available today.
njc110381
That should be the other way round gordon! Our work brava has done 60k miles, FSH. Jumps out of gear, low range and 4wd works when it wants to (not very often), it's rusty, and bits keep falling off. Worst truck we ever bought, complete *****! EDIT: And we have an L200, doing the same work. Has only ever wanted a clutch and alternator in 130k! Mungler
Get a HiLux. If they are good enough for the Mujahideen then they will be fine for getting to and from your permissions, quick trips to the shops and out with the kids. EDIT: I just put HiLux and Mujahideen into Google and got this. http://www.channel4.com/4car/best-in-class...pick-ups-3.html
il cacciatore
Mujahideen don't need to worry about the MOT.
JohnGalway
Mujahideen don't need to worry about the MOT. Just mount a couple of machine guns and a few extra powerful spots on it and hey presto suddenly the MOT people don't seem to want to bother you anymore
