Gordon R
Saw one of these recently - very impressed. I have a Brattonsound, with the multi-locking points, but the Stack On seemed a cut above - in terms of heavier construction and beefy locking mechanism. Anyone else got one? HDAV
Always thought they were a cheap rip off of snap on tool chests........
Gordon R
Their tool chests are. That said - Snap On are rubbish compared to Matco tool boxes.

HDAV
Here you go, http://www.stack-on.com/categories/security-cabinets-gun-cabinets hmm Approved by the California Department of Justice as meeting their standards for firearm safety. 3-point locking system with double-bitted, key coded lock provides greater security. does that meet BS7558? kent
I had to open a decent cash safe recently, it was built out of thicker steel than a gun safe, had muti-point locking bolts all sides- no keys!. Ten mins top side with a big lump hammer and cold chisel, bear this in mind if your upgrading " its better they don't find the safe in the first place"

My guess is with a chisel and lump hammer you could be in fairly quickly? I'm sure when I worked with cash our safes were rates in how long they survive attack but gun safe's don't seem to have those ratings. We know why they don't do it for gunsafes
Rupert
This is mine,i think it would be fairly resistant http://www.atozsafes.com/safe/105163/tann-ts4-900 Mines a 6 footer 3480 kg Edited January 10, 2014 by Rupert
HDAV
Gun cabinets are not safes! They are only designed to stop unauthorised access and opportunist theft. Not a determined attack with tools!

DaveyTed
I notice that some of the Stack-on ones say "ready to assemble". That does not sound like fully welded which I understand is a requirement to BS 7558.

Do you not get any issues with mice then? LOL. Seriously i don't want to see an up spec in stds but you can beef anything up with a little thought. Best thing is they don't get in then they don't find the safe
