Guest rimotu66
Great post Pav I have just reserved 6 at my local store, best bit is, if they are no good I can walk away and leave them now all I need is some budget netting
Guest rimotu66
Just got back and they seem ok, they are not green though as they are in the advert, mine are a light blue colour but a quick rub down and spray will sort that, they have a flat bottom as well so that needs sorting. For £2 each and I have seen 'proper' hide poles that are no better.

Tim85
Sainsbury sells them. Green an 3 quid. That's all any house pole is you just don't get a foot plate for hard ground but that's not much of a problem in this country lol
Catweazle
Green electric fence poles are good, they have a foot plate and metal spike. Practically indestructable.
Cranfield
My friend uses these and has made metal spiked "feet" out of slightly oversized pipe beaten to a point and drops the plastic poles inside.
steve_b_wales
I used line props a few years ago, before buying the 'proper' ones. To make spikes, I cut 4"x2" pieces of wood into wedge shapes, then drilled a hole in them so that the pole could fit into. On hard/dry ground, I used to stamp the wedge into the soil and then fit the poles. Very effective and cheap.

I have some of these also. They either need a hole made to put them in the ground or I weld spikes on them. woodfordpigeon
