bazzab
Top Gear and Duck Dynasty. Both are pointless trash for immature middle aged men. Precisely the reason I love them both! I think you have a point there...... in fact your bang on. Count me in on that rule.
castletyne
Its extremely sexist as well...has anyone noticed how all the eye candy in the crowd occupies the front rows adjacent the presenters and all the mingers shoved to the back... As for that Gerbil or Ratty or Gopher or whatever his name is ...he's just a vertically challenged **** pot, JC thinks he actually is Jesus Christ and the other guy is a demented escapee from the Open University. Should be shelved and my money spent on more educational programmes The standurd of what is upalling in this nayshun. Come on men don't use the word sexist Edited February 6, 2014 by castletyne
Twistedsanity
The format they used for years has made top gear the best selling car show worldwide, the people who benefit from this aren't going to change a winning money making format because we think its carp are they? On a more interesting note when they did the arctic special and the sas guy pushed Clarkson into the frozen water it wasn't scripted or expected and he got in serious trouble , my wife's cousin is the doctor that goes along on all of the top gear specials

All good things come to an end, not even Clarkson has a monopoly on being witty, it will have to change like everything else. Judging by this thread alone a huge number of people who used to like it now think it's a waste of time, outside public opinion can't be staggeringly different. Dunkield
A dozen or so people on an internet forum isn't a 'huge number' the millions that watch it, and get it for what it is, worldwide is. Never mind I expect the haters will have it set up for series record just to torture themselves once again on Sunday evening

Reeceknight
I'm an avid car fan and top gear watcher, but I am become bored of the "same old same old" boring scripted jokes, boring scripted crashes and incidents and so on. I don't think it's had it's day, but possibly mixing it up by having 2 new people? I think they need someone in there early 20's to appeal to the younger viewers. and the best episodes are when they do group b tributes, lancia, classic fords, more of the old cosworth vs the new focus Rs etc and less of the silly bits in in the middle. The challenges are good though. One thing I would say is, the star in the reasonably priced car. The car is awfull and slow and doesn't reflect those who actually can drive. For instance if it was a rear wheel drive old m3 or a 4 wheel drive evo it might make for interesting watchin expecaily when some can't drive and others like rowen ackinson are petrol heads. sort the men from the boys. Wouldn't take a lot to spice up the show. although I am gagging to see that 6 wheeled G wagon AMG and the new mclaren p1. They have been on my radar for a good few years and wasn't expecting that AMG to even be made.

Browning 425 clay hunter
I think its appeal judging by the response on here is even people who don't like it STILL watch it. Clarkson's is a knob but strangely that's why I like him. Even knobs can be funny. Cheers my Sunday night up. ATB

I'm no hater, just a touch more sophisticated these days, anyways there are plenty of TopGear haters elsewhere on the internet if you read the comments. Kes
Sadly the value of Hammond and May is undermined by the load mouth. " and on that bombshell" must be the most over used phrase since, and unrelated to, "you know it makes sense". The format needs to change and develop - it is undoubtedly dated and sour - our tame racing driver et al. It is funny but could be so much better whilst still being 'boyish'. Hammond needs to stop kissing JC's **** though - that looks creepy.
