“It dose not get much better than that in the winter!”

Myself PW member hawk4Sport and our friend Paul decided to have an afternoon roost shooting while the wind was blowing so well.

The wood we chose is only very small, a little bigger than a good copse being about two acre.

They picked me up at about 2.30pm, and as the wood is a stones throw from my house we soon arrived.

I have not shot the wood for over a month so we were hoping for some good sport, we were not disappointed!

We split up in the wood, Paul and I went on the right of the wood about 50yrds apart, while Hawk4Sport went up on the left hand corner (Dolly Peg)

For the first hr or so it was slow with just the odd pigeon coming over twisting and turning in the very strong wind.

But then the pigeons started to come in, for over an hr it was as good as any summer shooting, with the wind so strong the birds where very testing.

We ended up with 76 picked with a few down not accounted for.

As Hawk4Sport said as we left the wood

“It does not get much better than that in the winter!”

The picture of my lab is not to good as the light was going, sorry

The cocker is Hawk4Sport's, some one has to have one....
