Oh mick you are so deluded, you call me a snob because i drive a mondeo and don't like it when it is as fast as a porsche, then in the same breath you boast about your xjr and how it is better than a mondeo, well mick i will let you into a little secret your xjr is actually slower than my mondeo, the official top speed of one the same age is 155mph,so my mondeo would be showing you these,

you miss the point about the car analogy,it is that the most expensive or designer is not always the best

Your surname isn't bucket by any chance :whistling:

Only kidding atb

I was not bragging about the jag in fact I said I got rid as it was a waste of time for me.and now stick with my truck.you have a hang up on what others have not me.i do not eat m'c d's or kfc I will go in a carvery and for a fiver or so get a decent dinner does that make me elite or a snob.i shoot with a beretta not a sp1 but not an so5.in the middle.does that make me a snob,i use eley superb cart's so I suppose in your book that also makes me a snob.how about the man who has a old 50 or 60 pound sxs and drives a fifteen year old fiesta.does that also make you a snob for having a little more than him.i shoot with people from all walks and with all sorts of guns we enjoy our days out we enjoy each others company.we never talk about possessions its not important to us.on this thread it has turned 360 degrees.as its the people with the lower grade guns that have the sharpest comments and al aimed at those who use something higher grade.i believe they call it inverted snobbery.also anything I say on here is tongue in cheek I am not in the habit of plastering my private and personal life to all on the internet.you know absolutely nothing about me or my life.and it is rather elitist and snobbish of you to make assumptions about either.by the way how do you feel when out in your mundaino overtaking all the ordinary folk a little superior or elite perhaps. :whistling::whistling::oops:

"I have a £50 belgian sxs that will shoot as well in the hands of a good shot as the top of the range shotgun,it is the person behind the trigger not the gun.You are without doubt a shotgun snob"

You are kidding right!

Come on welsh1, even you cannot be serious with that comment!

Why not,if you are a naturally good shot you will inevitably shot well,if you are a bad shot nothing will make you better except lots of practice,as long as the gun fits you there is no reason why you cannot shoot it well.

My wife could make a £30,000 shotgun look rubbish, and also the £50 shotgun because she is an absolutely rubbish shot,my son at 21 shoots the £50 shotgun with amazing accuracy at the pigeons,He has used more expensive shotguns and is still a good shot.

The point yet again is you do not have to have the most expensive to be a good shot,

As for BM he is slowly realising that snobbery and buying the expensive things is not always the best, but i fear it is to late for him to change his ways as once a snob always a snob eh mick

Just kidding atb

Oh mick you are still deluded looking down on us minions, presuming we eat junk like kfc and maccy d's,you are the one who has looked down on anyone with a cheaper shotgun, and god forbid if someone turned up with a semi auto or pump action,in your snobby world that would be enough to hang him on the spot,I love it when you get all hot under the collar it is like..............Wait for it......................it's coming...............shooting fish in a barrel(you see what i did there),i am no snob and i am not a chav as you try to make me out,i am successful in my profession and am happy in my life, the difference between you and me is i learned long ago that the most expensive is not always the best, the mondeo has a massively proven and reliable 3.0 v6 engine, no turbos to go wrong and the faults it may have are known and expected. And i keep to the speed limits in the uk mick.

I enjoy the good things in life but i know the value of things and accept almost everyone for who or what they are, what i do not like are elitist snobs who look down their noses at people because they do not conform to their rigid and blinkered way of thinking, and that in a nutshell is you mick. you were saying, snob

anyone who turns up at a game shoot with a pump action should be publicly flogged.o/u and sxs are for gentlemen.pumps and auto's are for the americans.and let them keep them.there is a place for hatsans and the like it is called a skip along with the other trash.

Well chaps 8 pages on this topic, some serious trolling and all for what?

A cheap gun is not a bad gun if its all you can afford because unless its dangerous, being a shooter is better than not being one. Quality of materials and process defines costs and you will never get a handmade gun at the same price as a laser welded one. Beretta hold a high proportion of worldwide sales because they have the equation right - according to those who purchase their guns. Nothing wrong in principle with Hatsans or any other gun as long as people buy them in sufficient numbers to achieve a commercial return.

I prefer guns made to a fair quality standard, by any means, new or secondhand (prefer them not made by virtual slave labour), they just have to shoot reasonably well and, naturally, be safe in use. Nothing wrong, snobbish or wierd about seeking the closest thing to perfection for you, that you can afford.

you are getting a little desperate now in your wanting to put me down.i at no time said anything about anyone eating m'c d's or kfc only that I do not as I do not like them but many people do and enjoy them but it does not make those of us who don't anything.i can only excuse you for failing to see the comical side of my post about flogging auto and pump owners.but then I guess you are just a little aloof of the rest of us.atvb

well I am probably going to be called elite or snob for this but I only use beretta.I have a 682 gold e for general pigeon.

I will of course apologise to all in advance.:lol::lol:

Does it suffer from inertia block change over, quite ironic that you shoot an "expensive" shotgun that has suffered from problems.

Why on earth do people feel the need to justify themselves?

Drive what you like and shoot whatever gun you like, buying something expensive doesn't make you superior to those that can't afford to, likewise using something cheap doesn't somehow make you more virtuous or wholesome than those that spend more.

If you think someone is dumb for splashing cash on something you wouldn't, because you think it is wastefully expensive or wastefully cheap, then why get bent out of shape if they think different to you? If you already think they are dumb why would you care about their opinion?

Whether you have a Hatsan or Holland & Holland, be happy with what you have.

I have had none with it.as the 682 is only surpassed by the dt10 in competition I doubt it is a model riddled with problems.it after all cycles all cartridges.and I am sorry to be snobbish again but I don't consider them expensive.

see you cant keep a good snob down. :yahoo:

Personally and I'm sure like most of us, I 'like' and appreciate "quality". However, we can't all either afford or justify "quality". My already damaged hearing getting progressively worse, I ceased the clays and went the deer stalking route instead. I consequently, chopped my new Browning B525 in for a Hatstand and put the rest towards a Sako .243. My cabinet now comprises two Sako rifles and the Hatstand. Would I appreciate a more "expensive" shotgun; why sure. However, the pheasant's and pigeon's don't know the difference and kept properly clean, I've yet to experience a situation where it doesn't do the job for which it was intended. I have a degree of empathy with 'maintaining traditions' and wouldn't pitch up to a driven day with one, but for my purposes, stuff those who look down on the shotgun that does the job I need it to, regardless of it's cost and the badge it proudly wears.

Aye but are you using fuds or those cheap mass produced half shell decoys the ones where the flock falls of within months of buying them,I have a mate who bought some and the flock fell of before he left the shop. Some one even said the full bodied ones can blow up in your face if left out in the sun.
