Will Poon
After seeing Bakerboys topic about trying helice http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/278890-helice-zz-have-a-go-day-at-the-a1/ does anyone know why we don't have any clubs up north that has this discipline ? I've looked on the CPSA website there all down south

HDAV
It's a BICTSF discipline and rugby is as far north iirc as it gets, not cheap either at £1 a target I think... http://www.bictsf.com/ Edited March 24, 2014 by HDAV
Will Poon
That's still too far , what's the reason it has to be the southerners that has to have all the fun !
BlaserF3
Kelbrook were going to install a layout years ago but nothing happened. It's a bit of a minority discipline too.
TIGHTCHOKE
ZZ is wonderful fun, very frustrating and quite expensive!
PhilR
The A6 had a set of traps but Rugby bought them when it closed. The traps from West Kent SS are residing in the West Midlands, so I understand, and are awaiting installation somewhere, but location not known. huffhuff
I can only think of two reasons; 1. You only get 1 hour of daylight tup north 2. The traps require electric(kery?!?) Edited March 25, 2014 by huffhuff
Penelope
Have West Kent SS packed in the ZZ then? The A6 had a set of traps but Rugby bought them when it closed. kdubya
if you can miss a cheap target why pay to miss an expensive one. KW
huffhuff
if you can miss a cheap target why pay to miss an expensive one. KW Well, it's a different discipline (and quite fun too). You may well miss a standard sporting target, but hit these (or vice versa). You don't ever want explore, experience or do something different (even if only slightly different)? Great attitude though, keep it up.

KW . p m a comes to mind, and of course if you do not shoot at a cheap target, you will not miss it , think how much you can save

Will Poon
I guess sporting targets don't do helice nor Doveridge as I'll be visiting those grounds on the charity shoot .
Azzurri
I once shot ZZ/ Helice in Italy at a place called Ghedi. Fantastic fun, gets the adrenalin going when you're walking out to call "Pronto" and you hear them whizzin' around. It is a shame it isn't on in the north, I could easily become addicted. Lol

Lol As an aside the restaurant there is superb. However, Bluey being a Yorkie you've got short arms and deep pockets. The recent ZZ selection shoot was £50 to enter and an additional £30 to enter the prize fund for just 20 targets.
Will Poon
£80 for 20 targets Bloody hell whats the prize for winning .
PhilR
Multiply £30 by the number of entrants into the prize pool that'll give the total prize fund. There's a defined method of paying out the money.

George's Dad
The recent ZZ selection shoot was £50 to enter and an additional £30 to enter the prize fund for just 20 targets. Is it right that even if you miss the first target that's it - you're out?
PhilR
The £50 pays for the 20 targets, ground fee and levies. The 'profit' from the shoot goes towards sending the GB team to events. I think the elimination element has been discontinued now.
