seeker
Have a load of 28 bore RTO cartridges to reload .... had anyone made/found a gadget to hold said case still whilst it's under the RTO head ? ... I can set it up on a drill press but keeping the cartridge from turning with the RTO head by finger grip gets old fast ... the brass head and plastic case in a 28 are not that sturdy. seeker
That looks interesting . . I have a distant memory of using something that looked like G- clamp with a lever and handle in a 16 bore ... (But that was over 50 years ago) Thanks
edenman
Sorry just realised it doesn't go up to 28g, my bad
sitsinhedges
A small silicon rubber saucepan mat works well but the trick is to lube the shell mouth so the RTO doesn't grip it too much. I use a can of Screwfix PTFE spray to dust them with.
robbiep
Sorry just realised it doesn't go up to 28g, my bad There is an adaptor on their website to do 28b and 410 too - though it's even more expense !
seeker
Thanks for the replies ... It's off to the kitchen and ptfe shop ... Usually I use crimp cases on a MEC but several 100 once fired RTO 28s was too good to resist! It does look a bit pricey but itsc an option, thanks
Underdog
I got two 1" square pieces of wood about a foot long, screwed a piece thin metal, leather would do, to the two ends. clamped them and drilled through them in the middle of the clamped join a suitable size. Unclamped, the two open enough on the hinge but won't fully close on a cartridge when put between the two pieces of wood. U.
