For me it depends if i have to interview them or if i want to interview them. If i have to I tend to do them early doors and stick rigidly to time, just to get them out the way. Likewise if I know someone is a bit dry or dull I do them earlier too.

If someone is likely to have something interesting to say then i would put them on last as it allows me run over in time to expend on the discussion and not disrupt the schedule.

Nothing hard and fast though, sometimes it is just when it is most appropriate to interview people, for example if they have other things they need to do at certain times I would work around that.

I don't like to follow scripted interviews either, i find that it is never very natural and a bit too formulaic.

Did you feel like your interview was more a good chat, or did it feel like a scripted question and answer session?

Thanks :)

I did my apprenticeship with the company years ago. And the two people were there when I was an apprentice!

And got on with them.

So instantly it was very relaxed and definitely felt like an informal chat. But with some serious questions so not a compleat jolly if you know what I mean.

If they and you were comfortable then chances are you will have given a better interview, you will have definitely shown your more natural character and that is a good thing, unless you are a nutjob psychopath!!! :)

I guess you just have to go through the frustrating wait now until you find out. Keep those fingers crossed.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just an update folks decided to call them today and try and find out where I stood as it's been a couple of weeks.

And was told they were waiting for the head of HR to come back after being of sick but was told I would be invited back for a 2nd interview.

Well got a call today at 16:30 and I'm going back tomorrow for 2nd interview!

So looking good :)

Thanks all

Thanks. I'm feeling kinda strange lol excited but nervous lol

I don't know if there is more pressure or not this time.

Interview is at 12:30 this time so not such a long wait.

I'll let you know how I get on

Sounds promising...personally I wouldn't second interview a candidate unless he or she was in pole position.

The companies HR dept. may ask you to take a psychometric appraisal to see how you behave in the workplace. If this is the case don't be daunted by it.

Just be yourself, its sounds like you have made a good impression.

The good wishes of the PW masses is with you.... feel the force !
